Adaptation and Collaboration Project


 
Action Plan 
Based off of students’ presentations, pick 1-2 of the most pressing issues to address as a committee (if possible, 
combine topics). Fill out the follow action plan with a realistic, achievable goal to help improve the issue(s) selected by 
the committee. This action plan will be published on our webpage to educate our local community.

Ayana Glass, Kim Baxter, Kim Caruso, and Julie Cifuni ​on Wednesday, May 15 2019. 
 
Goal: ​Our goal is to reduce plastic consumption throughout our society. 
Results (How will you know when you have reached the goal? What does success look like?): I​f businesses 
can reduce their plastic consumption by a certain percent by the end of one year. We track how much plastic usage 
has decreased. 

Individual Action Steps: ​What should individuals in our  List resources needed: 
community do to help reach this goal?  - New and more options available to 
- Communication  replace plastic 
- Reduce what you buy that is made of plastic 
- Educating those who don’t have the knowledge 

Community Organizations Steps:​What should local organizations  List resources needed:

- Work on a fee for plastic bags with our city council (the  knowledge into the community 
money would go to city repair)  - A mentor to help educate us on 
- Plastic fee’s could go towards creating new and improved ways  things that might and might not 
of making energy  work 
- Encourage businesses to use less plastic 
- Possibly create an award for the most environmentally friendly 
business 
- Using imaging to create awareness
