The book ended the way it did because Okonkwo is the face of his culture. He represented
them and everything he did was just a bad look for them. Okonkwo Symbolized the good and
the bad for the Ibo culture. When the missionaries came and converted his people it displays
the ending of his culture. He killed himself because ot was the end of his culture, all to only be
narrowed down to one short paragraph. All of the years of the culture only meant that little now.
