Carlos Alberto Barón Lozano Resumen Hydrological science is a discipline that a civil engineer exercises in his career, since he is responsible for planning, designing and building hydraulic works, because they are the ones that will fulfill the function of capturing, driving, regulating and protecting us from the waters . This science as all has a history that must be known, to demonstrate how it has evolved and as new advances as the catalyst develops hydrological science. The history of this science is divided into different periods, but in which really began to take force was in the observation period where Leonardo Davici and Palissy manage to understand the hydrological cycle referring to the infiltration of rainfall and water returns in springs, after this in the hydrological science began to modernize by the measurements of Pierre Perrault and Edmond Halley in the river Seine and the Mediterranean Sea where they obtained precise results in the hydrological phenomenon and from there the artesian wells are started thanks to this the experimentation period begins where the first hydraulic principles arise, such as Bernoulli's theorem and piezometer and the pitot and embankment tubes that made the hydrological study of quantitative basis advance
After this experimental period began to cover different disciplines such as
geophysics that studies water, its distribution, spatial and temporal, and its properties and at the same time movements of air, water and the earth's crust, which also focuses the forces that they maintain these movements, or that generate the formation of clouds loaded with rain or snow, of underwater waves and waves always in eruption, so that their experiments were precise and useful for the development of this science; The biogeochemical cycle makes a minimum intervention of chemical reactions, and the water only moves from one place to another or changes its physical state. A part of the water can rejoin the mantle with the oceanic sediments. Most of the mass of water is in liquid form, especially in the oceans and seas and to a lesser extent in the form of groundwater or surface water in rivers and streams. These are some of the disciplines applied in hydrological science that have allowed it to improve more and more so that they can be implemented in the future and thus obtain better results for the development of this science.
