THEME OF THE FDP
Make in India was launched by the Union
Government with much fanfare last year with a
tangible objective of increasing the manufacturing
growth from 12% to 14% per annum, taking its
contribution to the country’s GDP from the present
16% to 25% and creating 100 million additional jobs
by 2022. The call on “Make in India” has its roots in
the manufacturing competitiveness of the nation.
It is in this context, the FDP is proposed to impart
knowledge and know-how about the latest
technologies in manufacturing engineering which
primarily include Green Manufacturing Technologies,
Nano Technology Applications and Advance
Materials & Processing Methods. The programme
also provides an opportunity to the entrepreneurs to
explore different avenues for start-ups and refine their
