Kalyani Carpenter representative visited WIF Sanaswadi regarding the complaint

of 17NiCrMo6-4, Heat No : HN118376, Size : 200 RCS at were crack observed
during forging and raw material . Cut blanks and forgings shown to them and
accepted. After forging 10 nos were checked for MPI. Crack seen upto the depth
of 1.5 mm deep. Two forgings were ground and checked for MPI and found OK.
All the cut blank are taken for MPI as per the discussion with M/S KCSSPL and
they will arrange for grinding from their end on 14.09.2015. MPI will be done at
WIF and cost will be debited KCSSPL.
M/S KCSSPL will submit the CAPA for route cause analysis by 22.09.2015.
Other two heats (HN 118557 and HN118606) will be checked on sample basis
before forging and the decision will be taken accordingly.
Sample will be provided to M/S KCSSPL for analysis and revert back on the forging
rejection cost due to RM crack.
