students memorize vocabulary. The picture must be little so that the students can

bring it everywhere. The students are suggested to write a full sentence with the

word in other side of the picture. The picture that shows the meaning of the word

is in one side and the sentence using the word is in other side. If language were

only a series of vocabulary words strung together, it should do fine. In short,

picture is one of the visual aids that brings human to understand the object that is

painted; moreover, it helps students to memorize vocabulary.

The third is the definition of picture according to Webster (1986:171). He

states that picture is a media that can be a representation (as a person, landscape,

and building) on canvas, paper, or surface produced by painting, drawing or

photograph. This kind of aid can be used in teaching to encourage the students’

motivation because the students are able to see the object concretely. Teachers can

use picture to help students understand about preposition. After introducing

material that will be discussed, the teacher shows one picture to the students to

make sure they know the object. The picture is a ball in a box. When the teacher

says that there is a ball in the box, the students can concretely see the picture and

it makes them easy to understand. This encourages students to learn more. To

conclude, picture is a media that can be a representation in paper and it is used in

teaching; furthermore, it can be a mean to teach preposition.

Stevick, and Webster. By the experts’ opinion, it can be concluded that picture is a

representation on paper or surface that contains description which gives an idea in

human’s mind about what something is like. Moreover, it helps students to learn a

language easily and quickly and it motivates students to learn.
