Word Processing Tips

Tips#1

Never hit ENTER to go to a new line. Do NOT press ENTER key to end one
line and start another. Microsoft Word starts a new line for you when you come to end of a
line. Only press the ENTER key to begin a new paragraph.

Tips#2
Do not press the SPACEBAR to move text around or align text. For example, don’t’ press
the SPACEBAR to move a heading to center of a page. Never add spaces to center text.
Word has special tools for aligning and centering.

Tips#3
Do not press the ENTER key over to move the next page. Simply hold down the
CTRL key and then press ENTER, then release the CTRL key.
Tips#4

The DELETE key erases the character on the right of insertion point. The
BACKSPACE key on the other hand erases the character on the left side of the
insertion point.

Tips#5

Observe PROPOPER FINGER POSITION on the keyboard, and correct


sitting position while typing.

Tips#6

Always become familiar with formatting options, menu options and toolbars or ribbons on
the word processor’s window.

Tips#7

Always save you then work often and always back up your files. You don’t need to finish
typing or formatting your document before saving. You can save
