Garbage/Rubbish Problem

Solid waste comprising of garbage and rubbish (such as bottles, cans, clothing, compost,
disposables, food packaging, food scraps, newspapers and magazines, and yard trimmings) that
originates from private homes or apartments. It may also contain household hazardous waste. It
also called domestic waste or residential waste. Rubbish is everything that you throw away or no
longer have a use for. Rubbish is anything from an empty crisp packet to a broken
toy. Rubbish can be solid, liquid or gas. Sometimes people use the word 'waste' when talking
about rubbish. Waste is any material which is no longer useful as it has served its purpose or at
the end of the process has no further use and it is generally discarded. It is unwanted materials
and objects that people have thrown away. It is often also called trash, garbage, rubbish, or junk.
Where you go in our society it is one of seeable problem.

The threat of waste to the environment, health and safety is huge and so are the financial and
social ramifications, waste experts said. Pollution runs into rivers and seeps into ground water.
Flooding is caused by garbage clogging drains, and the atmosphere can be poisoned by the toxic
discharge from trash. One of the outcomes of overflowing garbage is air pollution,
which causes various respiratory diseases and other adverse health effects as contaminants are
absorbed from lungs into other parts of the body. The toxic substances in air contaminated by
waste include carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. The odor itself cannot make you sick.
But some gaseous compounds can have other effects on your health by causing shortness of
breath, headaches, eye irritation, or, if large amounts are inhaled, even death. Garbage
pollution means littering civic waste particularly household waste into places not designated to
dispose it off. Burning garbage not only adds land pollution after being fully burnt but it also
becomes source of air pollution by emitting harmful gases while burning. They increase the risk
of you contracting with salmonella, which causes typhoid fever, food poisoning,
enteric fever, gastroenteritis, and other major illnesses. Besides flies, other animals that thrive
from the garbage in and around the containers include rats, foxes and stray dogs.
Garbage or rubbish is one of main problem in our society. There are so many reasons, there are:

 Garbage or rubbish is everywhere.

 Create air pollution.
 Garbage clogging drains cause flood.
 Create harmful gas.
 Burning garbage create land pollution.
 Create the odor which is not good.
 Create dieses like typhoid fever, food poisoning, gastroenteritis.
 Create pond, river pollution.
 Create river fill and pond fill.
 Create harmful organic gas which is harmful for health.
 Create land fill which is usable but people don’t use it.
 Adversely affect local economy.
 Create more dieses carrying pests.

Mosquitoes and rats are known to live and breed in sewage areas, and both are known to carry
life-threatening diseases. Mosquitoes breed in cans and tires that collect water, and can carry
diseases such as malaria and dengue. Everyone wants to stay and live in a healthy, clean, fresh,
and sanitary place. An area with poor waste management will certainly not attract people.
Landfill facilities that are mismanaged can cause the local economy to sink, which can then
affect the livelihood of the locals. Hazardous wastes in the environment leech into the ground,
ultimately, into ground water. This water is used for many things, from watering the local fields
to drinking. Toxic liquid chemicals from waste can also seep into water streams and bodies of
water. Improper disposal of waste can greatly affect the health of the population living nearby the
polluted area or landfills. Waste disposal workers and other employees in these landfill facilities
are at a greater risk. Exposure to improperly handled wastes can cause skin irritations, blood
infections, respiratory problems, growth problems, and even reproductive issues.
Every household in my area deals with rubbish on a daily basis. Many families use skip bins,
their local recycling system, and waste removal services to dispose of their waste. From simple
household rubbish to the commercial waste of businesses, proper removal of rubbish matters.
However, there are still those who choose to dispose of their rubbish themselves. This is where
the problem arises, especially when toxic wastes are involved.

We have solved it ourselves. If we don’t care then it affects us badly. So we can solve it
following some step by step. Some steps are:

 Buy biodegradable products.

 Store all liquid chemicals and waste in spill-proof containers.
 Eat organic foods that are grown without pesticides. ...
 Don't use pesticides if you can.
 Buy products that have little packaging.
 Don’t throw waste material to land, pond etc.
 More we can recycle, the less garbage there is.
 Use bins, local recycling system, and waste removal services to dispose of their waste.
 Ditch the plastic bag.
 Create a good recycle plan for yourself.
 Clean your waste material by yourself.
 Save leftover for next day, don’t waste it.

Food is another item that we often just carelessly toss away without thinking twice about it. Each
year, a very large percentage of our purchased food is left uneaten. Instead of simply throwing
away food, make good use out of it. Don’t just throw away old glass bottles or aluminum cans.
Instead, recycle them. Keep a recycle bin in your home to place old soda cans, paper, metal and
plastic cups. Learn to repair rather than discard. Little changes such as switching to cloth bags
instead of plastic ones which is help to reduce waste material.

If we follow some step day by day then we can adapt it all one day. This adaptation give us good
society, good environment and save us from various harmful things.
