Some Noteworthy Amendments in A/L 85:


Where possible, references to noteworthy amendments have been included
(references may not indicate all amendments relating to that topic). Minor
editorial and format changes are not shown on this summary. This amendment
also includes corrections to a number of paragraph references. Minor
formatting adjustments are not necessarily highlighted.
ADS--B Flight Planning Descriptors. The ADS--B flight planning descriptors
have been updated to provide better clarity to aircraft operators and planners.
ENR 1.10 Item 10.
Aeronautical Information Services -- AIRAC System. Updated the AIRAC
Effective Dates table to include 2017 and 2018. GEN 3.1 para 4.4.
INST -- 2 12 NOV 15 AIP Australia

Block Levels. Removed clause for glider and balloon as the AIP adequately
cover level alignment elsewhere. Deleted ENR 1.7 para 3.3.3 & para 5 Note 2.
Changes to NOTAM Category. Airservices is re--organising the creation and
distribution of NOTAM to better manage NOTAM data. AIP SUP H73/15. GEN
3.1 para 3.2.4.
Civil Formation Callsigns. Introduction of guidance regarding civil formation
callsigns. GEN 3.4 para 4.21.1 c., 4.21.5 & Appendix 1.
CPDLC Domestic Connection. Amends AIP to allow flight crews to log on to
data link and use CPDLC in domestic airspace outside of East Coast SSR
coverage (the J--curve). An addition is made to the logon requirements from
outside the FIR to manage Bali departures. Minor updates to wording are
included to align terms with the Global Operational Data Link Document
(GOLD). GEN 2.2 Definition and Abbreviation, GEN 3.4 para 4.4.1, 6.2, 6.3.2,
6.3.3, 6.4.2, 6.4.4 & 6.4.5 .
Editorial Amendments. Spelling error. GEN 3.4 para 5.10 & ENR 1.5 para
