c) Run the analysis of the variance to test the claim that the mean enrollments are the same
in all parts of the locations.

QUESTION 2 (17 MARKS)

A survey was conducted to explore the factors that affect respondents’ psychological
adjustment, health and wellbeing. In the survey, they collected the data on the feeling of some
situations (optim) see appendix 1). They also collected the data of marital status (Marital),
age (Age), gender (Gender) and sources (Source) of stress the respondent faced in their life.
Recorded data and the variables name are shown in APPENDIX 1 and APPENDIX 2
respectively.

1. Using SPSS software, group the Age into three groups and give the new name as
AgeGrp. In this case you should explain how do you grouped the data of the age.
(4 marks)
2. Using the data of AgeGrp in (1) as the factor, run a one-way analysis of variance and
test at 5% significance level if there is any difference on the mean of the feeling of the
respondents. Hint: test using p-value method.
(5 marks)
3. Suppose that in the previous study, stressful come from some sources. The factors that
make people stress are listed in APPENDIX 2. At the same time, different gender will
faced the different level of the stress. In that case, run an analysis of two-way analysis
of variance to see whether any different mean optim for the source of the stress
between male and female. Note: state the response variable, treatment factor and
blocking factor.
