Killing ​Man’s Bestfriend

Opposition: Having a pet and eating animal meat is a sign of incongruous behavior.

Supported by dogs are smart and “feeling” but farm animals such as pigs, chickens, or cows are
the only ones consumed by humans. (25)

Slant: Vegetarianism is not about eating fruits and vegetable; it is thinking about the whole process the
food in your plate goes into.

Supported by concern for the preservation of the environment and the ecosystem are ignored
by industrial fishing and factory-farming.

Supported by​ People who eat meat justify their consumption of animals in order to live.

Supported by animals are unremarkable in their intellectual and experiential capacities but they
are entitled to fair treatment from humans.

1. Opposition: Having a pet and eating animal meat is a sign of incongruous behavior.

A. Chef Gordon Ramsay, who is an “enthusiastic carnivore,” won’t be seen cooking with a puppy
in his pots and would “electrocute his children if they became vegetarian.” (25)

B. Many families never thought of eating their pet dogs but consider eating chickens, fish and

moral consideration.

4. People who eat meat justify their consumption of animals in order to live.

A. People are aware of how the meat on their plates are raised, killed and served but seem to
pretend that they don’t know anything.
B. Humans are given the choice of what they are about to eat while animals have no means of
preserving themselves while they are eaten.

5. Animals are unremarkable in their intellectual and experiential capacities but they are entitled to fair
treatment from humans.

A. Pigs might not be able to bark, and do tricks compared to dogs but they are not entitled to
indiscriminate killing.
B. Jonathan Foer felt shame on eating animal in front of his son who asks on why do they eat
animals.
C. “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” (25)
