Computers- Friendly Enemies?

It is difficult to imagine our life today without computers. They are so

widely used, in all fields, from education to air travel, from international
business to architectural design. But, are they really as useful as they seem?
Aren’t we too much addicted to them? This is a question that is difficult to
answer.

On the one hand, computers clearly have made our life much easier.
We get access to information quickly and easily, by accessing the internet.
Also, we can store and manage our info by the help of a computer, and this
makes every human activity much easier. Another great aspect connected to
them is that they enhance communication. Email is by far faster and more
convenient that the so-called “snail mail”. Last but not least, computers are
great for entertainment. People play games on computers, or watch concerts
or films, and so on.

On the other hand, there are also some bad aspects connected to the
use of computers. To start with, the internet is the home of a lot of violence
and garbage, and all sorts of bad things. So, people, especially children,
should be well supervised when accessing the net. More than that, there is a
lot of fraud on the net, especially financial fraud. Sometimes people are left
without any money in their bank account this way. Maybe the worst thing is
that computers create addiction. The more time children or teenagers spend
on the net, the more time they want to spend there, so they will eventually
waste all their time, and forget about family, friends, homework, and so on.
We see this happening every day.

All in all, it seems clear to me that computers have become an

indispensible tool today, but we should be careful to use, not abuse them.
