Goodnight Scholars Program Fall 2015 – Spring 2019

 Goodnight Seminar
o Researched and designed a solution for the lack of persistence in STEM fields in Elementary Education
o Presented research at a symposium
 First-Year Scholar Mentor (Fall 2016)
o Paired with two freshmen to ease their transition to NC State and the Goodnight Scholars Program
o Charged with building relationships, assessing mental health, and meeting once a week of six weeks
o Planned and organized an event to Frankie’s Fun Park for the entire cohort of mentors and mentees
 Goodnight Scholars Ambassador (Fall 2016 – Spring 2017)
o Attended events to monitor attendance and participation
o Visited local high schools to share information on the Goodnight Scholars Program
o Assisted with the Goodnight Scholars Finalist Interview Day
 LEGO Brick Build Committee Member (Fall 2017 – Spring 2018)
o Assisted in the organization of the annual LEGO Brick Build
o Planned, designed, and created six LEGO based activity stations

 Habitat for Humanity Shack-a-thon
o Helped with the construction of a shack to raise awareness for homelessness in Raleigh
o Manned the shack to fundraise money for Habitat for Humanity
 Goodnight Fellows Program
o Partnered with a mentor who is a Keenan Fellow and 4th/5th grade teacher at Exploris Charter School
o Shadowed my Goodnight Fellow in her classroom to gain insight on what a day in the school looks like
 Goodnight Scholar Event Privileges (Fall 2015 – Spring 2019)
o Involved in a questionnaire event with Former NC Governor James B. Hunt
o Attended a panel with Superintendents from Wake, Chatham, and Durham County Public Schools
o Chosen to attend 2018 Institute for Emerging Issues forum, Kidonomics: Investing Early in Our Future
o Volunteered at the LEGO Brick Build and led a group of children for the day’s event
o Volunteered on STEM Nights at Zebulon and Washington Elementary
o Volunteered at Hope Reins, a non-profit organization that pairs kids in crisis with rescued horses to find
hope and healing.
