STANDARD LESSON PLAN FORMAT

I. Describe the Class


This is a special education class with 5 students who all have autism. One of the
students is nonverbal and uses PECS cards to communicate. There are three boys
and two girls.

II. Objective(s)

The class with participate in a game that has each member complete an activity. In doing
so the students will work as a team to finish as quickly as possible to create a larger part
of the puzzle as they begin to add each piece together. The students will work on social
skills as they encounter the game to help their teammates up. this will help to control
unwanted behavoirs.
III. Procedures

Each child is given 5 puzzle pieces to put together, then they will put the pieces on
the board to create an even bigger puzzle. The students must work individually to
create their own small puzzle and then as a group to create the larger puzzle.

25 puzzle pieces, cardboard, floor, and a timer

VI. Modifications

For the student of lower function who is nonverbal, the one on one aid will assist him to
allow him to still be in the group activity.

VII. Assessment
The students will complete their own puzzle within two minutes with 80% accuracy,
and then students will complete the full puzzle together with the help of the special
education teacher and other aids with 100 percent accuracy. The students will not
pose any self- stimulatory behavior.
