Vineet Raj Kapoor, BE (Mechanical), MBA and Mentor to Design Students across India

[EXCERPT] Vineet Raj Kapoor's answer to What are the different career option after class 12th?
If you are confused about careers after 12th/ graduation, there are a few ways to approach this.
One, is to go for a career counsellor who would take parametric tests and identify your strengths
and weaknesses and advise career categories to attempt. Also, if you are very good with, and like
maths and programming, you may opt for Computers (BTech or BCA) or if you are good in
Biological Sciences you could opt for Medical or Pharmaceuticals. Whereas, if you are good with
Drawing and Creative opt for Design (Animation, VFX, Games, Fashion). If you are good with
words become a writer (content, news, fiction, ads) or director. If you are good with keeping
records go for Accounts or Stats or administration. If you are good with logic and have patience
go for Law. If you are good at memorizing and love nature and are caring go for medical. If you
are good with people and are quick with decisions, go for Management. If you are good with
nothing become a politician (haha, pun intended - actually you need very good insight into future
for this). Wish you the best for your career. Remember, your Career is a resultant of your
knowledge combined with your passion and expression ability.

MICROBIOLOGY
BIO SCIENCE
Bio-science is the branch of the sciences concerned with living organisms, from microorganisms
to the trees and gigantic whales. It deals with the biological aspects of the living organisms.
BIOCHEMISTRY
It is the branch of science that is concerned with the chemical and physio-chemical processes and
substances which occur within living organisms. It is a laboratory based science that brings
together biology and chemistry
ZOOLOGY
It is also called as the animal biology. It is the branch of biology that involves studying the animal
kingdom, including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution
of all animals, both living and extinct. It also includes studying how they interact with their
ecosystems.
LIFE SCIENCE
The life sciences is the the fields of science that involves the scientific study of living organisms
e.g. microorganisms, plants, animals, and human beings . it also involves studying the related
considerations like bioethics.
INDUSTRIAL MICROBIOLOGY
FOOD TECHNOLOGY
It is a branch of food science that deals with the production processes that make foods.
NEUROSCIENCE
It is the division of science which deals with the study of nervous system. Neuroscience involves
various disciplines such as physics, psychology, computer science, philosophy and medicine.
Neuroscience is also known as neuro -biology.
Delhi University
The major ones are - biotechnology, biomedical sciences (biochemistry, microbiology, molecular
and cell biology etc.), pharmacy, agricultural science, food science etc.
you can also concider pure sciences like BSc in biology, microbiology, fishery sciences, agriculture
etc just google these
you can also concider nursing (I recommend this) you can either go abroad and do masters and
PHd there if you want and financially fisseable for you
Concider physiotherapy y now a days everyone is worried about health ... do bachlors and then do
masters in specality of your choice jobs are easy to find if not open a gym clients will flood in like
anything.

Naturopathy & Yogic Science
this is diploma course of one year and very demanding as per the increasing demand
First decide Your long term goals, what you actually want to do in life and choose the path, that
can help you achieve your goals rather than choosing anything that looks tempting but do not
match with your goals.
Another important point specially for biology students is that during their schooling, they
spend most of their time with biology and they are so much in love with biology that they think
that they will pursue graduation with biology as the core and they try to figure out the courses
related to biology only and most of the students want to become doctor but as the seats are
limited only few could sail through and other students choose anything like biotechnology or
biomedical without thinking about their long term goals and the outcome of that course.
So instead, first decide your goal and which course can help you in guiding towards your goal
and do not hesitate, if , your goal matches with a course outside science as some students think
that their knowledge of science and hard work of two years will be wasted but, instead of
regretting after graduation its better to change stream now only.
And if, you have finally decided that you want to pursue a career in biology only, then there are
many fields to choose from
You can give entrance of ICAR, for a career in agriculture research and the scope is
quite good.
B.tech in biotechnology or biomedical, although the scope is limited and you can get a
good job after masters.
Paramedical like bachelor of physiotherapy.
Bachelors particularly in botany, zoology, biomedical and many more options to
choose from.
specialization in radiology, even AIIMS has special courses for this.
verternary sciences.
And you can choose specialization out of biology as b.tech in computer science or any other
field, b.sc in physics, chemistry and so.
Choose wisely!!
