SACRAMENT OF

CONFIRMATION
PARENT WORKSHOP
CONFIRMATION PRAYER
Spirit of God, grant me: The gift of wisdom
To see the world through your eyes,
The gift of counsel
To make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding
To use my mind to know you and to love you,
The gift of fortitude
To have the courage to live in the faith
Despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of piety
To be able to express my special love
And commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome fear
That makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s
Love.
Amen.

HOW PARENTS CAN HELP

• Participate in weekly Sunday Mass.

with the Church
- your child will naturally follow your
example.

• At home, make connections between faith

and life
- saying grace before meals
- display of a crucifix and/or bible

• Your parish can also recommend further

materials.
QUESTION TIME
Do I keep lines of communication open with my child?
Do I make time for prayer, both private and communal?
Do I actively participate in the sacramental life of the
Church?
Do I try to grow in knowledge of the faith and share it
with my family?
Do I give loving service to those inside and outside my
family circle?
Am I involved with parish activities as much as I could be?

Do you have any further questions for myself,
