Geography and Environment to introduce me with field techniques, methods and surveys in
research methodology.
The successful Fieldwork of Talora would not have been possible without the supervision of
some key persons. I am very much thankful to these personnel for facilitating us with all
necessary supports.
Firstly, I would like to with profound respect my gratitude to Associate Professor Jamal Khan,
Department of Geography & Environment, and University of Dhaka for his kind Supervision.
I would like to express thanks to local ward councilors and Mayor to collect data. The not only
helped us the fundamental knowledge on this area but also explained clearly where I am going to
do in the field. Their supervision has paved the way for me successful fieldwork. Throughout the
fieldwork I have learned so many things that will enable us to encourage about further study on
any Research.
I am also grateful thank to my beloved uncle Gopal Chandra Dev and my beloved friend Ruhul
Amin who guided me throughout the field work and supervised me fairly in many aspects and
made this field work more effective and lively.

Finally, I would also like to thank the people of Talora municipality to help me to know about
the environmental condition of Talora Municipality. Without their opinion this project would not
to be fulfilled.
 ABSTRACT

Geography & Environment is the discipline that studies man and environment relationship on the
spatial and temporal context. Physical and human environment both is the main stream of this
multi-disciplinary subject. To study the spatial pattern of any particular area and topic having a
specific objective, every session of masters of Science, this department arrange project or thesis
for the students as a part of its regular curriculum.
In continuation with this process, I am the students of MS (2016-2017) have made my project in
Talora municipality. This project report entirely based on the Citizens perceptions of
Environmental condition of Talora Municipality.
Environment is the main element in our Earth. If any pollution & degradation is occur in our
environment we can’t survive. So in this purpose I choose Talora Municipality to know the
environmental condition, pollution & degradation as well as its extent also.
As a student of Geography and Environment I have to gain the analytical ability through
this type of study & I realize that the environment of Talora Municipality is moderate. There
have few problems faced by Municipality dwellers. But it can easily solve. From my observation
I realize that the Talora Municipality is the unplanned urbanization & it effects the Talora
environmental management greatly.
In this report, I have tried my best to represent my experience & acquired knowledge including
with maps, photographs etc. After analyzing data I have tried to make a report & give an opinion
about the environmental conditions of Talora Municipality.
