Emma K.

Doub Elementary School

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Raegon Clutz, and I serve as principal at Emma K Doub Elementary School in Hagerstown,
MD. In my previous position as assistant principal at Pangborn Elementary School, I came to know and
work with Ms. Tyler Stanton, a classroom teacher in our building.

Ms. Stanton was an extremely valued member of our teaching staff. She was professional in her words
and actions, establishing positive relationships with both her students and fellow staff members. I
personally witnessed how Ms. Stanton nurtured and fostered caring interactions in her classroom,
building a strong sense of community among her learners and helping each one of them to find comfort
in her learning environment. Additionally, Ms. Stanton built trusting relationships with staff members
who came to rely on her for coaching, guidance, and feedback on a variety of subjects. Specific
specialties of Ms. Stanton include utilizing data to drive instruction, differentiation, utilizing cooperative
learning and student discourse to propel student performance, and understanding the importance of the
core principals of Readers Workshop and engaging students in each part of the process.

Ms. Stanton understands that a one size fits all approach to education does not meet the needs of her
students. She has a deep understanding of using data to drive her instructional focus, and used this
approach to differentiate her teaching for all students in her classroom. Ms. Stanton utilized a wide
variety of instructional resources and techniques daily, and was willing to share these as a teacher coach
within the building. Additionally, Ms. Stanton successfully led our school climate committee, tracking
data and creating positive experiences for our students and teachers to celebrate building successes. Her
experience in this capacity, along with the many opportunities she had to provide professional
development and coaching to her peers, enabled her to maintain a balance of both student and adult
teaching.

I highly recommend Ms. Tyler Stanton be considered for the position of lead teacher. If you have further
questions with regard to her background, experiences or qualifications, please contact me at

Sincerely,

Raegon Clutz
Principal
