INSTALLATION & SCREWS NON-CYCLONIC

Revolution Roofing recommend installing a waterproof,

breathable, vapour membrane between the cladding and
the support. This will offer a second line of defence against
moisture ingress.

The installation of the MaxLine 340 is to be carried out by a

Revolution Roofing Licenced and Trained Contractor. Installation
details are available on request. All fixings to be concealed and
tolerance for material thermal movement must be allowed for
during installation.

All rainwater goods associated with the installation of MaxLine

340 are available from Revolution Roofing and must be fixed to
allow for thermal expansion.
Using the recommended fasteners, fix the first clip, with the
arrow of the clip pointing towards the area to be laid at a 90 Pan fixing
degree angle to the gutter in a straight line. Please endeavour
to ensure the overlaps face away from the wind. The MaxLine 340 can be pan fixed to timber or steel supports
with the recommended fasteners no less than 30mm from
sheet ends.

Sheet Ends

At the end of the purlins, cut the deck and the clip to suit. It is
recommended to allow roof sheets to overlap into gutters by
about 50mm.

Turn up MaxLine 340 pans at the ridge line. Pans should be

turned down a the gutter line of lower pitches.

Lengths

Lengths are provided are your required length.

Fix first sheet to clips using downward pressure ensuring
deck is properly engaged into clip. Check there is adequate
overhang of the sheet to the eaves line. CLIP FIXING
Concealed fixing is the method of fixing sheets using fasteners,
which do not pass through the sheet. Instead, the cladding is
held in place with clips, refer the below table for fastening clips.

MaxLine 340 Clip Fixing (Non-Cyclonic)

Type Fixing to Steel and Timber

then fix to previous clip using the locating tab. Proceed with Note: When fixing to timber please contact your Revolution
next MaxLine 340 sheet by engaging the female rib onto the Roofing representative for more information or refer to

Continue fixing clips for deck in same manner, check
periodically with a string line that the deck is properly aligned.

SPRING CURVING

SPRING CURVING
Revolution Roofing is able to mechanically pre-curve its
‘True Oak’ and Corrugated 16mm products. However all
profiles are able to be fixed to a curved surface within
certain strict parameters which are listed in the following
tables. The process is referred to as ‘Spring Curving’ or
‘Spring Fixing’.

Please note there is a propensity for all spring curved

installations to “oil can” which is a wave like effect,
particularly in the pan of the sheet.

When determining the design of your roof, the acceptability

of the likely extent of the “oil canning” should be taken into
consideration. Consult the experts at Revolution for further
advice.

3. It is not advisable to end lap concave spring curving.
2. Where possible continuous sheet lengths should be
used. If it is essential to end lap sheets, ensure they are

length should span at least 3 purlins.

3. Spring curved roofs are more susceptible to damage,

therefore any unnecessary foot traffic should be avoided.
Do not walk between the purlins or in the pans of the
sheets. The structural integrity of the sheet will not be
affected if it is installed to Revspec design parameters.

SPRING CURVING
SPRING CURVING

SPRING CURVED OVER RIDGES

Spring curving of ridges is a popular choice as it eliminates

the need for ridge capping.

Installation of Spring Curving on Ridges

With spring curving, sheeting can be laid from eave to eave

and spring curved between the ridge purlins.

Start at the bottom on one side. Fix to the first purlin then
move to the next purlin up the roof. Continue in this manner
up the roof and then back down. If you fix one side then pin
the other side. Please not the sheet at the top may have a
gap between the purlins. Oil canning may also occur in the
process of spring curving ridges.

SPRING CURVING REV-KLIP 700

REV-KLIP 700, because it is a concealed fix product, will not

spring curve to as tight radii as pierce fixed products.

However it will perform well down to a radii of 60 metres to

70 metres. The degree of acceptability of “oil canning” will
feature in the design decision process. Consult the experts at
Revolution for further advice.

DECORATIVE PRESSED METAL

DECORATIVE PRESSED METAL

APPLICATION OF REVOLUTION
DECORATIVE SHEETING

Installing pressed metal can be easily done by a roofer or

individually as there is no detailed finishing work required as
there is with plasterboard.

The pressed metal sheets may be glued into position using a

skirting board or temporary horizontal batten to support them
from slipping while the glue is hardening. Pop rivets may be
also used to steady higher panels to fixed ones below while
they are drying.

On ceilings they are installed either by overlaying the panels on

furring strips or using the metal to line a new ceiling installation
in place of plasterboard.

The sheets are provided with an overlap joint to the

neighbouring sheets to allow for expansion and contraction
due to temperature changes.

In all public areas subject to knocking or kicking it is best to

use the Galvanised option as also in the case of a roofing
application which could be exposed to hail stones. Lower
impact wall applications in domestic installations are quite well
served with the aluminium panels.
