List as many differences between the ADDIE and the Rapid Prototyping processes as possible

highly engaging content has to be
developed.

Rapid Prototyping (RP) Process or SAM
Rapid prototyping is relatively new for the
eLearning industry. It is suitable when you need
to create highly engaging and interactive content.
Rapid prototyping requires careful monitoring
and execution of the development.
Rapid prototyping is perceived to be expensive
(taking more effort). However, that is not true. RP
actually takes much less time than ADDIE for an
equivalent content design.
It may be difficult for the customer to understand
the prototypes and give approval.
When designing prototypes, one looks at the
total experience from functional prototypes, ease
of usage and learning effectiveness. There is
provision for enhancement and correction during
prototyping.
In RP a short concept is developed. Very less
documents are written at the initial stages. Focus
is to get the functional prototypes ready.
Functional prototypes decide how the final
design will shape up. Storyboards may be written
after experiencing a functional prototype.
Functional prototypes clearly provide a uniform
experience for every user and stakeholder.
Thereby discussions pertaining to design
refinements will be focussed and objective in
nature. One can experience randomization,
synchronization, conditional response, audio, etc.
This is the advantage in rapid prototyping.
Rapid prototyping process is economical and
gives better quality output if managed well.
