TITLE: 3D Scan and Print

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
A basic training course using 3D Scanner and 3D Printer machine, and familiarize
their post processing software, namely Artec Studio and Cura. The training also
involves basic 3D modelling using Fusion 360.

Duration: ​8 Hours

Target no. of Participants:​ 10

OBJECTIVE:
1. To perform proper scanning procedure.
2. To develop appropriate techniques in handling the scanner.
3. To learn the post processing software used for the machines.
4. To develop skills in importing and editing 3D output of scanner using Fusion
360.
5. To familiarize basic software 3D tools used in fusion 360.
6. To be able to properly operate the 3D printer machine.

MATERIAL NEEDED:
● Shaggy carpet Pile (160 cm by 230 cm)
● 3D printer filaments
○ 5 rolls - Polylactic Acid (PLA)
○ 5 rolls - Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)
○ 5 rolls - Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE)
○ 5 rolls- Polyvinyl acetate (PVA)
○ 5 rolls- Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU 95A)
○ 5 rolls - Polypropylene (PP)

THINGS TO BRING:
● Laptop
● Flash Drive

PROCEDURES:
1. Introduction to basic concepts in using 3D Scanner:
a. Parts, Buttons and its functions.
b. Appropriate preparation before scanning.
c. Proper distance of scanner to the object being scan.
d. Capacity and limitation of 3D scanner.
2. Setting up the scanner to computer:
a. Connect the cable connector of scanner to computer USB port.
b. Check the color of light indicator.
c. Check Artec Studio if it properly recognizes the scanner.
3. Perform the whole body Scanning.
4. Proceed to post processing of scanned bodies.
5. Save the file to OBJ format to be imported to fusion 360.
6. Introduction to Fusion 360 editing and modelling tools.
7. Putting Additional details to the whole body 3D model.
8. Export the Final 3D model as STL file.
9. Import the STL file to CURA.
10. Scale down the model.
11. Post process the model for 3D printing.
12. Save the GCODE to an empty flash drive.
13. Insert the flash drive to Ultimaker 3D printer.
14. Configure the 3D printer for printing.
15. Start 3D the printing process.
16. After printing gently scrape out the printed object from the platform.

FINISH PRODUCT
· 1 piece scaled down whole body plastic model.
