When I was nine years old, I heard there would be a midnight movie on TV, and I silently stayed up
because I was rather curious since I had never seen a horror film before and my parents were
going to be out. Have you ever experienced the thrill of a late night film alone at home?
The Exorcist is a horror film directed by William Fredklin in 1973, and it tells the story of a twelve-
year old girl who is apparently suffering of a mental illness. The film was shot in the Washington
area and it is truly a dark, thrilling and mysterious case that is based on a true story. As the plot
develops you seem to be captured by its provoking stage and scenery, as well as the edgy mood of
the characters.
Concerning its most horrifying moment, when the characters evolve into a sinister and disgusting
sequence of events, Regan; the twelve year old girl is caught into a series of spasms of a rather
brutal nature that I found very senseless, as the girl hurts herself in a very unusual way which is
captured in detail on the screen.
In my opinion, the movie is worth a night-weekend show and it is considered a cult movie,
nonetheless, the subject of dramatic events makes it sufficiently outrageous for the faint of heart.
