General
‘These wall hangers and brackets offer varying amounts of
restraint and suppor for RED LINE eartidge-operated extinguish
tors. This makes thom valuable forthe following reasons:
+ Location and Compliance - A hanger or bracket establishes a
proper location for the extinguisher; there isless tendency to move
itout of the way. Certain regulatory agencies, such as OSHA,
requir that extinguishers be mounted at ceriin locations and
“specified heights from Bye floor.
+ Accessibilty ~ Extinguishers are more visible and more acces
sible when raised from the floor by a mounting device.
+ Protection ~ Extinguishers wich are allowed to sit on the floor
{or ground) are more likely to be bumped by mobile equip-
ment, knocked over by pedestrian trafic, and subjected to rust
damage at the base, They are also a greater danger to pedes-
‘vian trafic than properly mounted extinguishers.
ion Resistant (CR) Models
Inadeltion tothe standard surface preparation procedures, the
steel parts are primed using azine rch primer. The top coat paint
is applied as 9 powder and oven cured, The dry film is continuous
{and has a minimum thickness of § mis, See figures for CR Part
Numbers,

Wall Hangers
Application
‘The wall hangers are attached to walls or other stationary, vert
cal surfaces, for indoor vertical mounting of ANSUL eartriige-
‘operated hand portable ire extinguishers. See the Performance
Section for mounting condition requirements.
Description,
‘Wall hangers are made of steel and are either cadmium plated
or zinc plated. Each ANSUL cartridgo-oporated extinguisher has
Jot which mates with the wall hanger for quick and easy extin-
‘uisher hanging or removal, See figures for dimensions andl part
rumbers.
Performance
‘The hanger is des'gnad for use in protected areas whore physical
abuse of extinguisher and hanger isnot anticipated. A stationary,
omibrating, vertical mounting surface and adequate mounting
hardware are required. Hangers are to be used only for upright
extinguisher mounting,

Multi-Purpose Brackets
Applications
Typical applications include mounting in cabs and compartments
of everthesoad light trucks and automobiles and off-shore oi
platforms or seagoing vessels. These brackets are most useful
‘where vertical mounting ofthe extinguisher is not possible, and
hore the extinguisher must be restrained. Not fr high stress or
‘external vehicle applications. See Performance Section for further
information.
Description
‘These are welded brackots, constructed of heavy gauge stes!
with standard finish or red corrosion resistant baked-on powder
paint The overcenter toggle action ofthe clamp arm amploys the
Closing tension to lock the arm tightly around the extinguisher
while stil providing quick and easy access. Resilient pads grip and
Support the extinguisher, minimizing movement regardless ofthe
‘bracket mounting position. Holes are provided for mounting the
bracket by the back plate or by the base,

Performance
Jackets may be mounted in a vertiesl, horizontal, or stoping pos
tion on any sufficiently strong, stationary supporting surta
‘or within suitable vehicle compartments. However, or extern
vehicle and high-strss requirements, the heavy duty/vehicle
bracket is recommended,
Heavy Duty/Vehicle Brackets
Application
‘The heavy duty/vehicle brackets have been created to provide
‘liable service in the more rugged applications such as all exter-
‘nal mounts on vahicles and all mounts on larger equipment.
-the-oad and offroad, See the Performance Section for
information.
Description
‘The brackets are constructed af heavy gauge steel, with standard
‘r red corrosion resistant bakec-on powder paint, Tough resiiant
‘pads are firmly attached to the clamp arm and the brackot base to
provide two points of restrain for outstanding extinguisher secu
rity. The toggle action clamp arm is adjustable so that tho best ft
‘may be maintained throughout the bracket’ long life. As with all
‘ANSUL brackets, the extinguisher may be removed or replaced in
the brackot quickly and easly. Holes aro provided for mounting the
bracket by the back plate or by the base.

Performance
“The heavy duty/vehicle bracket hes successfully withstood
vibration tests at foroes which equal those indicated by vehicle
‘manufacturers as the maximum they anticipate. These forces
4are 5 g's paralla to the langth of the bracket back and 1g in the
planes perpendicular to that, as shown in the following figure, The
bracket may be mounted in many diferent orientations on a flat
supporting surface that is vertical, horizontal or slanting
Ordering Information
‘Wall hangers and brackets are available for RED LINE extinguish
3. Refer tothe figures forthe proper part numbers, For model
8 extinguishers, the multipurpose bracket may be employed in
almost every application encountered.
