ENGINEERING CAD DESIGN

RES provides Engineering CAD design services to offshore renewable energy projects.

Our CAD team performs both design & drawing support functions to manage interfaces and to ensure
integration between all project work packages. Design activities may involve creation of specifications,
analysis of requirements (space management, structural, functional) or the creation of designs to solve
problems. The CAD designer will provide CAD design services during Front End Engineering Design
(FEED), detailed design, construction, installation & O&M process aiming to support the management of
the project and ensure that the integration between all work packages is achieved.

CAD DESIGN

RES Offshore provides 2D and 3D CAD services to offshore renewable energy projects. We have extensive CAD
experience and pride ourselves in our CAD capabilities. We currently use Autodesk CAD software for drawing/
design work.

•  AutoCAD Civil 3D - WTG layouts, cable route engineering and seabed management
•  Inventor 3D - Intelligent 3D modelling of WTG foundations, met masts, onshore/offshore substation &
structural steel fabrication drawings

CASE STUDY

WEST OF DUDDON SANDS MET MAST

In June 2013, RES Offshore was awarded Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC)
contractor for a power performance meteorological mast for Scottish Power
Renewables and DONG Energy for the West of Duddon Sands offshore wind
farm.

•  Produce detailed 3D model of the met mast foundation.

•  Design steelwork for tertiary steel components including ladders & boat
fenders, handrails, external and internal platforms.
•  Construction drawings including GA’s, structural details, equipment
layouts & installation sequences.
