Measurement refers to the process by which the attributes or dimensions of some physical object are

determined. One exception seems to be in the use of the word measure in determining the IQ of a
person. The phrase, "this test measures IQ" is commonly used. Measuring such things as attitudes or
preferences also applies

Evaluation is the process of making judgments based on criteria and evidence. in evaluation process by
which the interests, attitudes, tendencies, mental abilities, ideals, behaviours and social adjustment etc.
of pupils are tested. By measurement, the interests, attitudes tendencies, ideals and behaviours cannot
be tested.

Assessment is the process of documenting knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs, usually in measurable
terms. The purpose of the assessment is to make improvements, not just be judged. In the context of
education, assessment is the process of describing, collecting, recording, evaluating, and interpreting
information about learning.

A test or quiz is used to test a person's or a student's knowledge of something to determine what he
knows or has learned. The test measures the level of skill or knowledge that has been achieved.

In teaching English, a test can provide valuable information to the teacher about where students are in
their learning and can influence what the teacher will discuss next. They will help the teacher to decide
whether the teaching is effective and help highlight what needs to be reviewed. Testing can be an
assessment of teaching as well as learning and also can give students a sense of accomplishment as well
as information about what they know and what they need to review.

This testing is used to “diagnose” what skills a student has demonstrated proficiency on. Diagnostic
testing often measures for student misconceptions or where students are in stages along a progression,
such as by grade level, of concepts, or skills. For example, diagnostic reading assessments can measure
what grade level students are fluent at reading, or based on their comprehension of the text.

Connected with teaching and testing in english , the environment of education, assessment, evaluation,
and testing all are used to measure how much material is assigned materials by students are mastering,
how well students learn the material, and how well students meet stated goals and objectives.Although
the assessment only provides information to the teacher that forms the basis of the score or value, the
assessment also helps assess learning.
