ECTS FORM

I would like to represent the ECTS achieved during my four years of Bachelor study in
Mechanical Engineering at SDM Institute of Technology. In all the subjects, presence of
additional modules can be observed. Below are the short description, official transcript and
course mapping.

For each subject Number of hours per Number of weeks Total number of
week per semester hours
Classroom lecturing 4 16 64

Assignment and study 4 16 64

hours
Total number of hours 128
for each subject
For each LAB Number of hours per Number of weeks Total number of
week per semester hours
Practical Lecturing 3 16 48

Assignment and study 3 16 48

hours
Total number of hours 96
for each LAB

Calculation of ECTS

According to European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, 1 ECTS = 30hrs.

CP = Total number of hours for each subject / 30 hrs.
128/30 = 4CP
96/30 = 3CP
For each subject in a semester = 4 CP will be achieved.
For each LAB in a semester =3 CP will be achieved.

Each semester – 30 CP will be achieved

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering – 8 semesters.
Total credits earned = 8x30= 240 credits.
