This letter shall be considered as an Open Records Request in accordance with TEXAS
GOVERNMENT CODE TITLE 5. OPEN GOVERNMENT; ETHICS, SUBTITLE A. OPEN
GOVERNMENT, CHAPTER 552. PUBLIC INFORMATION, SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL
PROVISIONS

Please provide to the Requestor your department’s documents considered as discussions (with
internal and external parties) regarding revising the departmental current policy, code, general
orders, directives and/or guidelines on the concept of the public’s right of photography and/or the
photography/recording (video or audio) of department officers providing services in a public
area.

This concept is generally recognized as the public right of photography, photography and
recording in public, the right to record and photograph in public, along with similar concepts.
