Objective One:   Child attends to communication and language from others

Outcome   The children were able to listen and participate in the reading of the 
book.  
Follow up   they made spikes on their backs and horns on their heads.  
 
Objective Two:   Child asks and answers questions about a book that was read aloud.

Outcome   The children were able to answer questions such as the colors of the 
dinosaurs and the name of the T-rex when asked.  
Follow up   I ask them questions every couple pages and they were able as a group 
to answer the questions.  
 
Objective  Child understands and responds to increasingly complex communication and

Outcome   The children were able to listen to the Dino Stomp song and were able to 
dance and sing along with it.  
Follow up   All the students were engaged including the one who does not like to 
dance to videos.  
 
Overall, how would you rate the success of your lesson activity?

What specific parts of the activity were most successful? Provide 3 examples to support 
your response. The Dino Stomp dance 
1. All the children were eager to participate 
2. One little girl who did not dance to these videos usually joined right in and was 
participating the whole time.  
3. They were able to show me how a dinosaur ate( part of the song) when we were all 
done.  
Describe any difficulties or challenges you encountered.  
When I first brought out the dinosaurs all the children wanted to do was touch them and 
not listen to the story.  
How would you address the difficulties and/or challenges if it happened again? 
I might bring smaller ones and allow the children to hold them during the story and dance. 
or allowed one at a time to come up and look/ touch them.  
Additional thoughts, insights, reflections 
Overall I feel my lesson was good just needed some tweaking, such as maybe bringing in 
smaller dinosaurs or having them come up one at a time to look at them.
