MCG PUBLIC NOTICE Under Clause 4 of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 Ithas been brought to notice that various bulk generators (generating more than 100 kg waste daily) are not segregating waste at their level and handling over un- segregated waste to authorized waste collector of MCG. As per SWM Rules, 2016, all bulk waste generators shall, within one year from the date of notification of these rules and in partnership with the local body ensure segregation of waste at source as prescribed in these rules and facilitate collection of segregated waste in separate streams. As per clause 4 of SWM Rules, 2016, if any bulk generators is found handling over the un-segregated garbage to the authorized waste collector, user charges at twice the rates notified vide order no. MCG/2017/50091 dated 05.09.2017 will be imposed on ‘bulk waste generators, It Is intimated that those waste generators including Resident Welfare Associations handling waste generated in their area who are performing work of source segregation, decentralized in site composting and sending the dry (non- biodegradable) waste to designated secondary collection point, will be exempted from paying user charges fixed by MCG vide Notification No. MCG/2017/50091 dated 05.09.2017.
