Computer Science

I learned about Computer Science from my brother in law is a computer scientist. One

interesting thing that is a perk about his job is that he gets to work from home with his

company for some days which is an amazing thing to have at a job. Working in the computer

science fields has its perks, especially considering the different aspects of a job in relation to

this field of study. Some include, Pay, qualities of a computer scientist, job satisfaction, tasks

associated with the job, and how to become a computer scientist of which will be discussed in

the paper. Some things that are already known about this job is that it deals with computers

and coding language. We know that the code lets you create programs such as games and

websites. Other things that people would know concerning this job is that there is a certain

amount of knowledge that needs to be gained in order to become one. It is also common

knowledge that these types of job fields make a lot of money, and there is an increase in

demand for them.

The income of a computer programmer and a businessman are different. In an article

by Kamlesh Meta, it explains that during a lifetime of a computer programmer, generally the

pay doubling is less than that of a businessman, but if its five times or maybe even 10 times

or 15, there are more computer programmers getting those pay increases more than business

men. This means that when you are talking about comparing computer programmers to

business men, by the end of their lives, programmers tend to have more of a chance to have

opportunities to increase pay by 5 or more percent compared to business men. This is

important because pay is an important part of this topic of discussion, and I see that my field

of choice is doing better than the alternative types of field. It is also important because this

means I have a better idea of the statistics of other jobs instead of a computer programmer.

Job satisfaction is something that is important to consider when looking at jobs. It lets

you gage how much people like the job after they start for a little while letting you know if its

actually something you’d want to do. In a survey done by Kamlesh Mehta, Computer science

job satisfaction for doing well, is above average at around 75 percent. This means that

throughout all of Computer Science jobs that they tested three out of every four people like

their jobs. This is important because that means there is more of a chance or probability that

this is a job that people wouldn’t leave away from, that makes it quite appealing to people

who are looking for a job.

As stated by “The International Co-operation ltd”, communication is a fundamental

aspect of most job experiences in these days and days of old. This is so because there are a lot

of people on a certain team that you have to work with. You need to work with the engineers,

you need to work with other people that are collaborating with you. If your goal is to get a

project completed with your team it is necessary to be able to do this. You also need to be

able to show your work to your team. This means basically similar to how it sounds. It is very

important to have good communications skills to get a job done in this type of job

environment. You need to know deadlines on when to submit the work you are assigned to

do. You need to be able to work well with your team to do a job that consumers or the project

manager approves of.

There are many aspects to the computer scientist jobs. In the article “U.S Bureau of

labor statistics, the goal of communication and research scientists are people who mainly test

and develop software for people to use. They invent new computer languages, and work with

other scientists and engineers to make products, and help the consumer have a better

experience. After testing the software and hardware, they analyze the results of these tests,

and adapt their technology accordingly, or they don’t even change anything because the tests

notified no change needed to the part they were testing. This means that there are certain

skills needed to be a successful person that goes into this kind of business. It is important to

know all of this stuff because if you know these skills and implement them into the job you

will succeed and get ahead.

I interviewed Josh Callahan, and one of the things he mentioned is the fact that there

will always be a need for computer scientists. The world of computers is growing and it's

going to keep growing and innovating, and expanding. Expanding this will only make for

much more computer tech jobs. Everyone is going to have a computer nowadays if they are

going to succeed in the workplace. This means that there will always be job security in the

sense of there will always be a need for people in this industry. It is important because I don’t

want to end up in a job that will be dissolved and now computers can do. It is better to hop on

the bandwagon and not be left behind than to be left in the dust trying to pick up the pieces to

a puzzle so lost and distorted it will never be finished.

There is a lot of schooling that needs to be completed in order to be successful in a

computer scientist job. As stated in “The U.S Bureau of labor Statistics”, To become a

Computer and information research scientist ( a version of a computer scientist) you need to

have a Masters degree. Most regular computer science fields need a bachelor's degree. They

need to be detail oriented, analytical, communicative, logical, have math skills. They learn

how to strengthen these skills when going into the field as a student at a nearby school. In the

Computer and information research scientists, they may become computer and information

systems managers, which is an upgrade within that aspect of the job. This means, there is a

lot of room to grow inside this job, and that there are many good life skills that come out of

this job, and that you learn. It is important because I will need to know what I’m going into

and how much I will be devoted to this. It helps give the type of qualities that are very

successful in life in general.

The pay is important to look at when considering what type of job to consider. As

stated in “The U.S Bureau Of Labor Statistics” The information and research scientists earn

an average around $114,520 annually. This varies in what type of job they go into. Software

publishers in this field earn around $132,000 a year, $125,000 a year in physical, engineering

and life sciences research, and finally around $ 77,000 per year in colleges, universities and

professional schools. This means that there is a variety of environments, and aspects to one

particular field of study with different pay options to consider. This is important because

knowing my options is important, and knowing what difference in pay will be. I want to be

happy in my job, but I want to get a good pay for it. So knowing all these options is a good

thing.

In conclusion, I believe this job on paper looks like it would have very good perks to

it. I would have to work hard for it, but looking at the numbers it would seem like I would

like it, and I would benefit well from this. Important things that I learned when doing this

long and informative project was that there is a great pay involved in this job, it is well into

the hundreds of thousands for certain jobs, and getting there for other types in this field.

There are the qualities which are important to learn, like the communication, logical, and

other defined qualities. I can say with great confidence that this job field is suited for me, and

would work well with the qualities, and hopes and dreams that I have and one day hope to

aspire, and this research has done well to back me up on this.

Furthermore, I don’t know much about what types of languages there are, and what

the languages are about. I don’t know much about the creation of software, and the deep stuff

about the job. I don’t know exactly what type of math classes are needed for me to learn. I

still don’t know where the best schools are to learn, and I don’t know all the different types of

classes there are that help teach computer science. It is safe to say that I don’t know a lot

about this job field, but school will help me out.
