Experience Description:
10 rubber ducks will be placed
into a tub of water. There will be
10 dot cards placed on a table
for children to match the number
on the bottom of the duck they
fish out to the appropriate dot
card
Materials:
10 rubber ducks, container, fishing places for fruit to be separated,
net, water, 10 dot cards
Specific developmental concepts
or skills to assess:
Children will use their fine motor
skills to use the net to fish out a
duck, see what number is on the
bottom of the duck, and place
the duck on the appropriate dot
card with the same number. Fine
motor skills as well as cognitive will
be used by the children

The children will learn to sort
specific ingredients to make a
“fruit punch” drink
Experience Description:
Children will each get card with
ingredients on them such as “3
strawberries and 2 bananas”, they
use tongs to grab the fruit they
need and place it into a cup that
they can pretend is their punch
Materials:
Ingredient cards, tray with 8
tongs, cups
Specific developmental concepts
or skills to assess:
Children will use counting and
sorting to place fruits into a cup by
using ingredient cards for
instructions. Also, fine motor skills
by using tongs to pick up each
ingredient and place it in the cup

Life cycle of lady bug
Learning Outcomes:
The children will learn the life cycle
of a lady bug, the stages it goes
through, the things they eat
Experience Description:
A lady bug habitat will be
introduced to the class in
beginning of the week, children
will observe all week and so forth
until the larvae is fully grown into
lady bugs
Materials:
Lady bug habitat, journal for
children to document what is
going on growth wise each day
and what they see
Specific developmental concepts
or skills to assess:
Children will observe the habitat
each day and discuss what they
see and the growth of them at the
end of the week. They will
document in journals by drawing
what they see and telling one of
us for us to write it down
