Statement of Purpose

My proposed study plan relates to some of the most important (and correlated) development challenges
that are eradicating poverty, by providing quality education, establishing industry, infrastructure; that will
eventually improve the economic growth of the nation.

After becoming a computer scientist and educationist, my vision is to work in "Information Technology"
sector of Pakistan, collaborating with local government. This collaboration will initially be focused on
providing quality education that can help to eradicate poverty. Mission of this collaborative work is to
have resilient infrastructure that will promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and will foster
innovation. Once there will be innovation and technology promoting infrastructure, it can empower
government to break the shackles of foreign aid that is a serious issue for my nation in recent years.
Further, these initiatives propel nation-states in a direction of making greater strides in trade, growth and
jobs with safeguarding the dignity of individuals, communities and nation as a whole.

The innovation and infrastructure development at a national level i.e. making incubation centers, research
facilities or even establishing new universities is an immediate need of Pakistan. Helping in establishing or
heading most of the public-sector IT projects there is an ultimate need of professionals that not only have
best education but also a strong experience of research in certain technologies.

I aim to be such a professional that can help the government in taking such measures and successfully
completing the projects. Different projects that are aimed at improving citizen services for police, high-
court, city district government, health and education, especially using smartphones. In my country, I have
an example of Dr. Umar Saif (https://www.pitb.gov.pk/umarsaif), who worked in a similar way and the
projects he founded with the government really helped the nation.

All these plans are directly related to the specific needs of lower and middle class of the country and are
focused not only on knowledge and skill development of the lower and middle-income class but also
improving the economic growth of the nation.

My vision of such developments is a long term plan that can take 20 to 25 years to be successful, but my
immediate aim is, soon after I come to my country after completing my PhD studies I will join a public
sector university in consent with HEC Pakistan and during working there for probably 4,5 years will
establish links with government by taking some projects and providing my services for their successful
completion. Thus, my outcome can also be measured by the outcome of the projects I will be supervising
or investigating (in case if it is a research work) during the specified time period.
