SAMPLE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION AND FAMILY:

I am M.R.Roja Ramani, from Hyderabad, India.

India is home to thousands of entrepreneurs. I want to be one of them. My country needs more skilled
innovators who can create and launch cutting-edge products and services to keep India at the forefront
of the technological tide.
University of Newcastle has exactly the kind of program I am seeking. The Centre for Entrepreneurial
Studies holds exciting events with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, offering networking
opportunities and first-hand experience that I plan to take full advantage of to extend my learning. I’m
also very excited by the Global Business Plan Competition. Your business incubator encourages students
to launch their own businesses, something that I aspire to myself.
I grew up in a family of Business background. My father runs property business and mother is a
homemaker. I have four younger siblings all are well settled. Hoped I might follow in their footsteps. I
look forward to studying in the heart of Australia.

EDUCATION HISTORY:

I have completed my Secondary school education in 23/05/1996 year. Later I have completed my
Intermediate with Major subjects in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry from Vagdevi JR collage
Hyderabad in 02/02/1999 year and I have completed my graduation in Bachelor of Computer
Science from Bhavans degree collage affiliated to Osmania University in 11/06/2002, I have
completed Bachelor of Education from St Ann’s collage of Education affiliated to Osmania
University, Hyderabad India, 09/06/2005.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

I started my career as school teacher in Blooming blossoms school from year-2005 to 2008, later I
joined Calyxsoft as a Customer care service from 2008 to 2009,since the company was shut down I have
to leave and I joined Hucon as a HR Recruiter from 2010 to 2011, HR Capital as a HR Recruiter from
Feb 2011 to June 2012, Genpact (on the payroll of Adecco) from 2012 to 2014 as a HR Consultant, re-
joined HR Capital as a HR Recruiter from Feb 2014 to July 2014 and during this period I got job offer at
HSBC as an Executive from 24th July 2014 to 3rd June 2016 .
Now I am working in IBM as a Technical support representative since 24th Dec 2016 to still date.
GAP EXPLANATION:
I have failed few subjects in 2nd year in Intermediate and I have cleared all my subjects in 1999.
I have gap from year 2002 to 2004, during this period I was preparing for B.Ed. Entrance exam, even
though I got result in the year 2003, but course admissions started from 29 th April 2004.
And from 4th June 2016 to 23 Dec 2016 I have taken break. Later I have joined IBM as on 24th Dec 2016.

WHY STUDY IN AUSTRALIA:

I choose to study in Australia because of the cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of
education. Australia offers a diverse range of courses for students Studying in Australia.
Australia provides a unique experience in terms of education with its rich history in research and
educational initiatives. The culture provides an inclination towards innovative thinking, creativity,
reasoning and problem solving. Moreover, there are quality institutions that are known world wide for
the value they add to a student’s career.
Australia also offers excellent value for money and a standard of living that is among the highest in the
world. Living expenses and tuition costs in Australia are considerably less expensive than UK and USA.
Australia’s multicultural nature means overseas students are readily accepted by others. Australia is one
of safest countries to live, study and work.
The life is very cool, calm and easy in Australia for Indian students. Australia delivers the much higher
quality of education to their international students like Indians. Australia is having a good facilities
related to study like libraries.
Last but not least, in terms of environment, Australia is definitely a good country to work in considering
its lower amount of pollution as compared to other developed countries.
Apart from that, Australia is known to be home to beautiful beaches and lush greeneries of flora and
fauna.

I choose to study in Australia because of the cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of
education and preference towards Australia is primarily because of the research-oriented culture. Also,
because it provides world class education, post-study work opportunities and excellent quality of living
and unbeatable academic excellence and support system for international students.

university established in 1965. It has a primary campus in Callaghan, a suburb of Newcastle, New south
wales.

I have experience In end to end recruitment, I know that a Recruiter needs excellent interpersonal &
communication skill, as well as a complete understanding of laws designed to protect both the employee
and the company. From Hucon to IBM I learned that what makes a Multinational, ambitious company
succeed and how to work with a team to develop innovative Ideas.

RETURN BACK TO INDIA AFTER COMPLETION OF MY STUDIES:

I am the eldest child of the family, I have the responsibilities to take care of my family. After completion
of Masters, I will return back to India, as my future goal is to launch my own Business and the best way
to achieve that goal is to get a Master of Business administration with an entrepreneurial focus like your
school offers. Also, I look forward to learning from other students with entrepreneurial ambitions like
mine. I believe my work experience, coupled with the solid education I received, will give me the
grounding to excel in your program. I hope that the committee will look favourably on my application.
VISA CONDITIONS:
I am aware that I need to meet the following DIBP student visa conditions during my stay in Australia:

 I have to maintain a full-time enrolment load at all times and remain enrolled for the first 6
months in my principal/formal degree program with University of Newcastle.

 I am aware that I have to achieve satisfactory academic performance with 50% pass grade
throughout the study program and maintain at least 80% attendance for the full duration of my
studies.

 I am aware that I have to maintain payment of tuition fees by the census date of each term.

 I need to maintain my Overseas student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of my student
visa. I have to Notify UON and DIBP within 7 days of any change to my residential
address/contact details.

 I aware that I am not allowed to work more than 40 hours Fortnight on part time basis.
