SCENE 1
EXT.GRAVEYARD.MORNING
ARTHUR is standing in a graveyard. He stands alone, in the cold.
He is looking over his girlfriend’s grave, a ring in his hand. We
see him walk down a road, and look down to his phone, seeing a
missed call from his therapist. We see ARTHUR’S face, he looks
tired, and very unwell.
INT.BAR.MORNING
We see ARTHUR sitting, alone. The pub is barely open.
ARTHUR
Beer.
NOAH
Name: Ziko Mortiv, supposed member of Basilisk. We have strong
ties to Ziko with a case back in Gibraltar. I found a possible
location of his lab and did recon around the perimetre, 10 guards
stationed round the outside of the base. Guards switch posts
every 10 minutes, most paired in groups of two. Stealth takeout,
guns as last resort. We should be able to flank from the west and
attack from behind. Swift and clean. We don’t want any unwanted
attention. Infiltrate and extract, we need Ziko ALIVE.
ARTHUR
I can’t promise anything
NOAH
Nice to see you haven’t changed
There’s a short pause, ARTHUR reverts his eyes down to the
document laid out on the bar.
ARTHUR
What time?
NOAH
Prime activity is at 2400 hours
ARTHUR’S phone buzzes loudly on the surface of the bar. He opens
phone to see a message. He glances to see a message from his
therapist. He turns his phone off and scoffs.
NOAH
Who was that?
ARTHUR
Therapist, been nagging me about this session for months
NOAH
How have you been coping?
ARTHUR
I don’t want to talk about it
NOAH glances at him, and he looks back down at his drink and
finishes it.
CUT TO:
SCENE 4
INT.ARTHURS HOUSE.EVENING
ARTHUR and NOAH go back to the house.
NOAH
Jesus.
ARTHUR
Yep.
NOAH looks round the room, seeing the dust on the shelves and the
large amount of beer and wine bottles scattered around the house.
NOAH
You still got all the old equipment
ARTHUR
Yeah, it’s probably somewhere around here (says non-chalontly)
They both look around the room. ARTHUR rummages around the spare
closet. Behind a large assortment of junk ARTHUR finds large box.
He opens it up to reveal a small assortment of gear. He picks up
the box and gets up and turns around towards the room. As he does
a hallucination of his deceased girlfriend appears in front of
him. He is stunned by the sudden appearance and he becomes
frozen. The flash is brief but leaves Arthur in a shocked state.
The girlfriend flickers in and out before dissipating. Arthur
drops back slightly and takes a moment to balance himself.
NOAH
Ay you alright
ARTHUR
I’m fine!
He shoves past NOAH and put the box the bed. ARTHUR opens the
box, takes out the Kevlar vests, guns and then lastly a small
box. He opens it up to reveal contact lenses. Montage of suit up
begin. Guns loaded. Kevlar loaded. The end shot of the montage is
of the contact lenses being put in and them activating.
CUT TO:
Before leaving the house, NOAH puts ARTHUR to one side. He
reaches into one of his side pockets and takes out a small box.
NOAH
Wait a sec
ARTHUR turns around and NOAH hands the box to ARTHUR. He looks
down at the small box confused.
ARTHUR
What’s this?
NOAH
Ingestible Micro-bots. If you sustain any major injuries inside
your body, activate and inject this into your arm, should help
heal any fatal injuries. This is the newest in the line of tech,
Picked this up about a month ago.
ARTHUR
Right
ARTHUR opens the box to reveal the syringe. He examines as NOAH
explains before closing the box and putting it into one of his
side pockets.
CUT TO:
SCENE 5
EXT.ABANDONED AREA.NIGHT
ARTHUR and NOAH are crouched, surveying the area from afar. They
are waiting rotation to switch before they attack.
NOAH
Rotation in 2 minutes. Engage from the west, sweep the grounds,
In straight through the back entrance. Remember guns are a last
resort. Clear
ARTHUR
Yep
NOAH
Activate contact lenses, start recording, activate infra-red.
NOAH and ARTHUR engage on the base. They close in together and
begin to pick off guards. We see ARTHUR go up to a guard and come
up behind a guard, with a quick stab to the neck. They proceed
further, with NOAH going up behind a guard and stabbing into his
neck. More and more guards are eliminated. The last guard is none
the wiser as ARTHUR grabs his head and bring the knife down into
his throat.
NOAH
I don’t know what’s in here, guns out, infra-red off.
NOAH grabs his tablet, a wire is attached with a camera at the
end. He places the camera under the door and checks the
surroundings. They open up the door. ARTHUR enter the building
covering corners as they go. Guards begin to engage them, and
they begin to fire. They proceed onward towards ZIKO lab, they
storm in. Sweeping out the last guards, ZIKO begins to run before
ARTHUR tackle him to the ground. He begins to beat ZIKO. NOAH
begins to shout at ARTHUR.
NOAH
Arthur!
Arthur that’s enough!
NOAH tears Arthur off ZIKO. ARTHUR retaliates; however, NOAH
counters and pins him to the wall.
ARTHUR
Get off me Noah
NOAH
We need him to talk
ARTHUR
I don't want him to talk; I want the truth
NOAH
We need him alive for that
ARTHUR
That scum bag doesn’t deserve to live
NOAH
You really have changed.
We need him alive. Did I not make myself clear? We need him to
find DAEMON. That’s the man you want. That’s the man who killed
her. Now stand down
ARTHUR’S grip loosens and his face drops. NOAH lets go of him and
he looks at him.
NOAH
Go home Arthur.
NOAH walks away and injects the micro-bots into ZIKO, and we see
ZIKO stabilize. We follow ARTHUR leaving the room as NOAH IS
interrogating him. NOAH’S face reads disappointment and guilt.
CUT TO:
SCENE 6
INT.ARTHURS HOUSE.NIGHT
ARTHUR is on the bed, bottle in hand. He gulps down the rest.
NOAH storms in with anger on his face.
NOAH
What the hell were playing at? You nearly jeopardized this whole
thing.
ARTHUR
You’ve got some balls, trying to boss me around
NOAH
What happened to you man?
ARTHUR
You wanna know what happened to me? I LOST EVERYTHING… and where
the fuck were you. I NEEEDED YOU! YOU ABANDONED ME. You act as if
nothing happened
NOAH
I learned to deal with the pain, what did you do?
ARTHUR
I have spent every single waking hour torturing myself, blaming
myself. I should’ve helped, but I couldn’t.
NOAH
You couldn’t help, there was nothing we could do
ARTHUR
I loved her… and I couldn’t save her so what did I do? I left her
NOAH
She would’ve wanted you to live
ARTHUR
Why? So, I could end up like this, a shell of the man I used to
be. I’m nothing now, I have no purpose, nothing.
NOAH
She would have wanted you to move on
ARTHUR
Don’t you fucking dare. You don’t know what it feels like when
you lose your SOULMATE! She was the one, and I am the reason she
isn’t here. I am the one whose confidence fucked everything up.
I’m a monster, the only difference is I am no longer trying to
hide that.
ARTHUR GLARES AT NOAH, which shakes NOAH to the bone. He grabs a
beer and leaves, slamming the door on the way out.
CUT TO:
SCENE 7
EXT.OUTSIDE RESTAURANT.DAWN
ARTHUR IS WALKING DOWN THE ROAD, DRINKING HIS BEER BEFORE
THROWING IT AWAY. We see him look through a window of a
restaurant. He begins to hallucinate and from the reflection of
the window he sees his girlfriend. He stares at her, with his
face filled with sadness. The reflection fades and we see a real
reflection, of a man standing right behind him, making direct eye
contact with ARTHUR. ARTHUR immediately breaks his gaze onto the
mysterious man. ARTHUR sprint to him and pins him up against a
wall.
ARTHUR
Who the hell are you?! (Angry)
OTTO
Uh… uhh (Scared)
ARTHUR
I’ve had a long day, you better tell who you are before I beat it
out of you. (Scared)
OTTO
My names Otto Schmidt.
ARTHUR goes to hit him.
I’ve got information on Daemon Blackwater.
ARTHUR
OH MOTHER FUCKER. (Fed up/agitated)
ARTHUR takes out his phone and calls NOAH
Noah meet me at the bar I’ve got something.
CUT TO:
SCENE 8
INT.BATHROOM.MORNING
ARTHUR and NOAH are stationed in a bathroom, looking at OTTO.
ARTHUR and NOAH are both stood over him with their arms crossed
him.
NOAH
Where the hell did you find this guy? (confused)
ARTHUR
He found me
NOAH
So, what’s his deal?
ARTHUR
He said he knows some information on Blackwater.
NOAH
Did you de-bug him?
ARTHUR
Wait what... no I just brought him here
NOAH
Jesus Christ
NOAH goes up to OTTO and begins to search him. He takes off his
jacket and searches all the pocket before throwing it to ARTHUR.
He checks his back pocket for anything and finds a phone.
NOAH
Arthur?
He throws ARTHUR the phone and ARTHUR takes it and throws OTTOS
phone at the wall. OTTO flinches in fear. NOAH carries on
looking, searching the rest of OTTO’S pockets before taking off
his shoes. He examines the shoe before lifting the sole to reveal
the bug. NOAH shows the bug to ARTHUR. ARTHUR tries to go for
OTTO, but this time NOAH stops him, and ARTHUR doesn’t resist.
NOAH
Let’s hear him out
ARTHUR looks at NOAH and he stands down. NOAH steps on the bug
Talk
OTTO
I was forced to work for Basilisk for 3 years. I was worked in
intelligence and after I found out there were people threatening
Basilisks infrastructure, I decided I wanted to help. I have
information which can bring basilisk down
ARTHUR
Sounds like a load of bollocks
OTTO
No its not I swear (Panicked)
ARTHUR
You were following me, not really trusting at the moment (Slowly
getting madder)
OTTO
Well I was making sure it was you. Besides ,before I could do
anything you had me pinned to a wall.
ARTHUR
Fair enough
NOAH looks back at ARTHUR with a discerning looks, ARTHUR simply
shrugs his shoulders. NOAH looks back at OTTO.
NOAH
Get up (Fed up)
NOAH lifts-up OTTO and ARTHUR follows them out of the bathroom.
CUT TO:
SCENE 9
INT.BAR.MORNING
They all come out of once and walk through the pub. There is a
much larger increase of people in the bar and many without
drinks. They all walk out of the toilet into the bar area. As
they walk out ARTHUR and NOAH’s eyes survey the room. They notice
some men that are scattered round the bar. It is very early in
the morning and no one is ever in that time. ARTHUR and NOAH
begin to become concerned and share a look, to show they know a
conflict is about to unravel.
ARTHUR
Want a drink
NOAH
Yeah why not
OTTO
Well… like I was saying, I work for basilisk’s intelligence unit,
this unit is located in the biggest of the three locations.
Daemon visits every 5-6 months and usually stays for a month
checking progress. I only know where this location is, so we
would have to breach him there. It is located…
I was a child prodigy, best in the class, offered a scholarship,
make a difference get a job, get money, help people, but all I
did was hurt people, and when you’re in that deep, you can’t dig
ARTHUR
I should have, I’ll check the back room
ARTHUR goes into the backroom and searches round the room. OTTO
comes in, and walks over quietly. He spots a picture of ARTHUR
and LILY in a photo. He picks it up and immediately connects with
it.
OTTO
You’re a lucky man
ARTHUR
What?
He swivels, the picture to ARTHUR.
OTTO
Your wife
ARTHUR looks away quickly trying to hold back his anger.
ARTHUR
I don’t have a wife
OTTO point at the ring and ARTHUR pauses. He looks down, before
looking back at OTTO with an unsettling glare.
OTTO
Oh, sorry it was wrong for me to assume, I… I. (Very Nervous and
scared)
ARTHUR looks down, controlling his anger. He gets up with a stern
face, he walks up to him and he takes the picture off of OTTO and
places the picture back face down.
ARTHUR
You didn’t know. Get ready to leave.
ARTHUR walks back into the living room. And places his bag of
stuff on the bed.
ARTHUR
Where are we going, because we sure as hell can’t stay here?
Noah?
NOAH
Maria? She can get us off the grid.
There’s a short pause
ARTHUR
Alright (Accepting)
ARTHUR hears a noise, he walks over to the window, and he spot
four silhouettes walk into the apartment building.
ARTHUR
We gotta go now.
ARTHUR looks over at OTTO.
ARTHUR
Stay close
NOAH moves towards the door.
NOAH
Arthur, where?
ARTHUR
4 men, stair well
NOAH
Any other way out?
ARTHUR
No
NOAH
Then we go through them
They storm out of the house and they begin the push through them.
They attempt to stop them, but Arthur throws them off, with OTTO
running past and NOAH finishing them off. They exit the building
complex. They run down the street. NOAH takes out his phone. He
scrolls through and finds Maria’s number. He calls her.
NOAH
Maria, I’ve got a favor.
CUT TO:
SCENE 10
INT.MARIA’S HOUSE. AFTERNOON
The doorbell rings. MARIA opens the door. The 3 stand at the
door.
MARIA
Arthur
ARTHUR
Maria…
CUT TO:
MARIA
So, let me get this straight, you want me to get you off the grid
so that you can go and hunt down Basilisk… again.
ARTHUR
Pretty much, yeah
MARIA
The things I do for you. It’ll take me a couple days but I can do
it.
She stands up from her desk and walks over to OTTO.
MARIA
Maria, that’s all you need to know (Gives a soft wink)
OTTO
Otto, nice to meet you.
ARTHUR
I don’t mean to intrude, but have you got any beer?
MARIA
We don't drink in this house, water would be good for you
ARTHUR grunts and OTTO walks away. NOAH is about to walk off,
MARIA stops him and puts him into one side.
MARIA
Why are you doing this, why now?
NOAH
Arthur needs this
MARIA
How’s he been holding up?
NOAH
He hasn’t. I should never have left
MARIA
You did what you had to do
NOAH
I left him when he needed me most.
MARIA
We both did.
MARIA
Be… care…fu-… i- losing… (Distorted speech)
ARTHUR
Maria, do you copy
MARIA cuts out.
DAEMON walks out with a person either side of him. They begin to
unload suppressive fire on ARTHUR and NOAH. ARTHUR and NOAH jump
behind cover.
ARTHUR
You got a plan?
NOAH
Nope, you?
ARTHUR
No… shit.
OTTO slide over into their cover.
OTTO
I got a plan
ARTHUR
Well thank god for that
OTTO
Daemons laptop, it just over by the crates, But I need a
distraction
ARTHUR
I can do that.
ARTHUR takes off the promise ring and
Listen, I need you to take this, keep it safe
NOAH
That’s your promise ring, I can’t take this
ARTHUR
I know what it is, and I need you to keep it safe for me
NOAH
FADES TO BLACK:
SCENE 12
EXT.GRAVE YARD.MORNING
NOAH stands over ARTHUR’S grave, mirroring the start of the film.
We see him in possession of the promise ring and he grasps it
tight.
(POSSIBLE SHOT: CLOSE UP OF NOAH AND WE SEE HIS SADNESS AND
REGRET, FILM FADES OUT WITH A FINAL WIDE SHOT SHOWING ARTHUR
LOOKING OVER THE GRAVES)
