DYNAMIC PHYSICAL EDUCATION SECONDARY LESSON PLAN 

Lesson Plan 1 
 
OBJECTIVES: 
The student will: 
1.  Learn to evade or follow a partner while moving under control in general space. 
2.  Learn a variety of jumping skills. 
 
EQUIPMENT: 
Music for Astronaut Exercises. 
 
INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES  TEACHING HINTS 
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY (2 - 3 MINUTES)

LESSON FOCUS (15 - 20 MINUTES) 
Movement Concept: Moving in General Space  Students will practice control by avoiding touching other 
students. 
Students will run lightly around the activity perimeter   
without touching their classmates.    
Again they will run around perimeter but this time when   
they hear the whistle they will change directions.   
Carefully run towards a partner and dodge him and her   
to avoid collision.   
Students pick a spot on a wall and walk towards it, since   
everyone’s spot is different, everyone will be   
moving towards different directions. Be aware of   
your surroundings so that you do not run into   
another students, let them pass in front of you   
before continuing. Return home on the signal.    
Using the perimeter cones I will decrease the space and   
see if students can continue to lightly jog without   
running into another student.

GAME (5 MINUTES) 
   
Sneak Attack   
Skills: Marching and running    
Students will be asked to pair up toe-to-toe with another   
student. On the whistle one of the students will move   
towards one end of the perimeter and the other student   
will move to the opposite side. I will instruct one group   
to turn their backs on the other group of students, they   
will be the chasers. The sneak team will move forward   
towards the chasers, once they are close, I will blow the   
whistle which will instruct the chase team to turn around   
and chase after the sneak team. Any students that were  Allow both teams to participate evenly, everyone has a

EVALUATION/REVIEW 
Students learn simple orienteering activities by freely
