High School Academic Reflection

Fall

You are now about twenty months away from high school graduation. Over the course of those
months, you will be starting to make decisions about who you are as a young adult, where you
want to be, and what you want to do with your life beyond high school. Take a moment to reflect
on where you have been and where you are going.

Think of a class that you have had success with over the course or your high school career.

Why do you think you were successful in this particular class? What did you do to help

yourself? What did your teacher do? What have you discovered about what works for you

as a learner?

I’ve had success in History, Photography and Culinary. I feel for both photography and culinary i

do so well is because definitely for culinary i feel passionate and happy partaking in the subject. I

love cooking. The teacher is amazing and kind as well. I’ve become a fast learner in the kitchen

and have basic knowledge of coordinating a cooking group.

Now think of a class that you have struggled with in some way. Why do you think you had

a harder time with this particular class? What did you do/not do that might have impacted

the experience? What might have helped?

I struggled in Algebra 2. I haven’t really always been the best with more complicated maths. I’m

better a simple math which i can typically finish quickly. Algebra 2 requires too much effort i

don’t have in me anymore. I should’ve gone in for more help. It could've helped. But i didn’t

even have motivation to go in for help either.

At this point, where do you see yourself when you graduate from high school? College, J.C.,

trade school, work world, travel,....?

After highschool i would wish to actually travel the world while i’m young. But most likely I

will land myself in the J.C. sometime after high school and then take my prerequisites and

eventually transfer into another college. For culinary.

What goals will you have to accomplish, academically speaking, in order to get yourself to

where you want to be?

I think i'm in a good spot so far. I feel like i could improve on math but also no?

What SPECIFIC strategies could you adopt over the course of this year to help yourself?

Much better studying habits still since I tend to be a person who never studies, just does all their

work and hope for the best when a test comes along. I could adopt better habits that could help

me gain motivation.
