Reflection
(Minimum of3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?

In this field experience, I met with the Personalize Learning Team to discuss when an appropriate time would be to collect the Microsoft
Surface devices that students were given at the beginning of the school year. We developed a plan and logistics surrounding device collection
for the middle of March. I was charged with creating a schedule for the school to adhere to regarding device collections. I had to consider the
test-critical classes, such as those who were preparing for the Georgia Milestone Tests and I had to consider when classes were scheduled for
lunches. After a few edits, the final schedule lasted for two weeks in non-testing courses. I allotted two days for students who were absent
from their classes to return their devices during their lunch block.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge – During our Personalized Learning Team meetings, we discussed ways to ensure equity amongst all of our students, regardless of learning style
or learning disability. We discussed a plan for the upcoming school year on how to increase the meaningful usage of devices in all classrooms.

Skills – During this field experience, I was required to be able to create a plan for managing the devices once they were collected. I also had to create a
contingency plan for students who were absent on the day of device collection. After creating the plan, I was required to communicate the plan to the
Personalized Learning Team and from there to the faculty and staff of the school and the technology team of the county.

Dispositions – During this field experience, I learned the value of team work. Even though I organized the schedule, it was good for other people to review it
before sending it out to the staff. I also learned the value of flexibility. At some points, I had to modify the schedule on the spot because teachers forgot to
bring their classes, or they were absent. Being flexible was required so that the day could continue to run smoothly

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?

Disorganization and a lack of communication has plagued my school when it came to school initiatives. Teachers have felt out of the loop and morale has
suffered because of it. This field experience impacted school improvement because it provided an organized plan for collecting devices. Overall, the device
collections ran smoothly, and it was because there was a variety of voices to contribute to the plan.
