SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Technology today in our continuous modernizing world has profoundly affected

our lives. It is beyond doubt fast and innovations that the people can develop are so

unpredictable. There are lots of advance technologies occurring every now and then.

Coming up with a good invention that is brought up by creative minds will be a

challenging action to do.

Information System is a way in which people interact with this technology in

support of business processes. Because of these, the use of information systems will be

advantageous to different organizations such as government agencies.

Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs the Senior Citizen Office currently operates

using the manual method of recording the senior's data. Thus, the following element has

been significantly benefited with this system. By using this web-based informaion, all the

seniors of Pikit, North Cotabato. will have fast and reliable transactions when it comes

to registration and pay-out process. Administrators by using this web-based information

system of Office of the Senior Citizen of Pikit, North Cotabato will have a reliable

transaction when it comes to the registration process and other office transaction

regarding the information of senior citizens. Office staff the system can give the staff

reliable to prepare and generate reports. Senior Citizens for the senior citizen, they do

not have to worry anymore in case they forget to bring their identification cards with

them during the pay-outs in 42 Barangays of Pikit, North Cotabato.

OBJECTTIVES OF THE STUDY

a. Registration

b. Identification card and reports.

2. Create a module that shows the demographic profile of senior citizens in each

barangay in Pikit, North Cotabato.

3. Create a module that will search or shows the master list of all senior citizens.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

This study was basically designed for Senior Citizen Office that provides a lot of

services to the member such as online registration process, and provides reports for

information per barangay and counts the registered citizen’s. This system is limited only

to cater citizen’s information for registrations, barangay population, and budget per

month, view master list, update pension viewing per member and posting

announcement to the web-based information system homepage.

The study was conducted in Ali T. Manampan the OSCA HEAD of Senior Citizen

of Pikit North Cotabato.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

transform the inputs into outputs. The administrator and staff must first input their

username and password. It validates login in all login modules, confirm transaction like

updating and deleting records, register senior citizens’ information inside the database.

Generated forms and reports, upload announcements in the senior citizen website and

create master list are all shows under output.

Deceased - A member of senior citizen who died.

Manual - Refers to the old system used by the staff of Senior Citizen Office.

Members - Refers to the Senior Citizens of Pikit, North, Cotabato.

Office Staff - Refers to the office personnel that caters the transactions In

the Pikit Senior Citizens Office.

Profile - Refers to the senior citizens information such as name, age, date

of birth, gender, address and other information regarding to the office

transactions.

Senior Citizen - Person over the age of 60 and up.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study will be using descriptive design of research. Descriptive method

involves a careful study and observation. This kind of method of research describes the

data about the population being studied. It focuses on gathering of mainly verbal data

rather than measurements describes the current situation or condition. This study is the

process of looking for information to discover the community involvement of senior

citizens. This research about community involvement of senior citizens in rural and

urban areas will be using a descriptive type of method for gathering data and facts

about senior citizens. This method will also use statistical calculations for better analysis

of data.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researcher prepared a questionnaire for gathering information on the Senior

Citizens in urban areas community involvement. The researcher will be conducting the

research during weekends or on days that have no classes and on holidays. The

researchers will personally go to the urban areas to find ten correspondents. The

researcher will personally be distributing the questionnaire and at the same time

interview the respondents.
