Working Mother

Parents are stressing about if they truly need to be every minute with their child. Brayke is correct

because children are going to be on their own. However, the question remains if parents should be on top

of their child. Children should learn that their parents will not always be there when they need them. In

the real world , they would have to be independent and learn how to work with their problems. Parents

also need to teach their child to be independent and not to get everything from them, so when they face

the real world they are prepared to face it.

In this argument on if parents should be on top of their kids is a good thing. The quote “a working

mother of four laments being made to feel guilty for not being every minute for her children”, which

meaning that the mother should be feeling bad for not being there for her kids. The quote “ it prevents our

kids from learning skills they need to succeed in the real world”, this is a quote where the mom feels like

she should teach her kids to be independent. In my opinion I agree with the parent because us kids need to

learn how to work with our problems.

To continue, parents should be able to trust and teach their child to be independent in life.

Children need to know that our parents are not always going to be right there and then when we are

struggling on a situation. That is why parents should let us experience real world situations and let us try

to make our decisions to be independent. Being independent at a young age will also help us in a

workforce and prepare us in life.

However on the other hand, the argument people have is parents should be there for their child. In

the quote “ the school nurse has taken me to task for not being immediately accessible ”, meaning we live

in a world where people are able to get in contact with anyone right away. However that might

be true, doesn't mean we should give a child everything they need or want.
 In conclusion parents that teach their kids at a certain age to be independent is more

beneficial on the child's life. To be able to handle and continue in life even when they are

struggling.
