Completion and Moving Up Ceremony Speaker
April 4, 2019
SY 2018-2019

To the Schools Division Superintendent, Madam Josita B. Carmen CESO V,

Public School District Supervisor, Dr. Lina O. Solloso, Secondary School Principal III,
Madam Edna B. delos Santos, our honored guests, the CPTA Officers, Faculty and
Staff of this school, parents, completers, students, , ladies and gentlemen, BEST
MORNING…

It is our pride and joy that one of our very own alumni at Bislig City
National High School has acknowledged accepted our invitation to speak before us
and be an inspiration to our student as we celebrate this completion and Moving
Up Ceremonies for school year 2018-2019. Considering his schedule and the
distance that he has to travel, we are truly privileged.

19 years ago, on this very same occasion, he was one of the hopeful
graduates whose journey to where he is now may have been uncertain to him,
too. But with his determination coupled with great efforts, dedication and
assertiveness it is of no surprise to why he has become to what he is today. He is,
definitely, an epitome of what achievement means.

Our admired guest has, indeed, gone a long way. Born on March 12, 1982,
this eldest child of Osias del Pilar Manlucob, Sr. and Tessie Navarro Manlucob is
truly a role model to his 2 other siblings and an inspiration to all of you, dear
students. He has practically spent most of his childhood and teen age years here
in Bislig as he finished his elementary education at Bislig Central Elementary
School and concluded his junior education at Bislig City National High School in SY
1999 – 2000 with an impressive scholastic background. He was a Meritorious
Awardee for Science Investigatory Project, a Campus Journalist and one of the top
10 Cadets of the Year.

Uncertainties and doubts were upon him after accomplishing junior high
school graduation. He was on a crossroad on where to go and what to do. He
thought of working to fend for himself, had it not for the immense opportunity
offered to him by his aunt to support him through his college education. He held
on to this chance and did his best not to fail his aunt who believed in him.

He was a reluctant educator, at first, as he had always wanted to be an

architect or a financial consultant. However, the academic world is something that
is concealed in his heart. As a young boy, he enjoyed making grades to his
imaginary students and other stuffs that teachers do. It is a calling that he later
realized and couldn’t refuse to accept. Thus, he took up Bachelor of Secondary
Education major in Mathematics at the University of the Visayas, Main Campus. As
if this is not enough. He also has a diploma in Special Education which he capped
with Honors at Cebu Technological University. He also had many other feathers
on his hat, so to speak while still in college. He was a consistent Dean’s Lister, a
Silver Medalist for Extemporaneous speaking and a Bronze Medalist for Poster-
Making contest in the inter-Department competitions in his university.

He has obtained his Master of Arts in Special Education at Cebu

Technological University and is currently wrapping up his Master of Arts in
Education Major in Educational Management at Surigao del Sur State University.

Our guest is now into his eighth (8th) year in service at the Department of
Education. He had a one year teaching job at Tisa National High School, Cebu City
and spent the next four years teaching Mathematics and ICT at Barobo National
High School. His five-year teaching career is not only a fulfillment of his childhood
dreams but the accolades he garnered made it all more meaningful and
worthwhile. As a teacher, he was awarded as:

1. National Winning Coach for Short Film Competition held at PhilRice

Institute in Muῆoz, Nueva Ecija. Film Title: PagsasaKabataan;

2. National Winning Co-Active Coach for Documentary Film held at Iloilo

Convention Center. Film Title: Bugwak;

3. National Participant to the Search for Mr. APE (Adopted Physical

Education held at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City and won Best in Talent;

4. National Qualifier Coach for Tarpaulin Designing Event during the

National Festival of Talents held in Olongapo City, Subic Zambales;

5. National Shortlisted Finalist- Doon Po Sa Amin: A Smart Communication

Challenge held at Makati City: Research Film: Ngumiti so Bulate

Ladies and gentle, let us welcome with great pride and admiration for
this alumnus of this BCNHS Batch 1999-2000, Education Program Specialist II of
Surigao del Sur Division, Mr. Osias N. Manlucob Jr.
