a. Agenda: STEM Advisory Breakfast (1st Advisory Meeting)

a. Welcome & Introduction of BHS STEM Team- Debro

i. Team was developed to… address the growing role that science, technology, engineering and
mathematics now play in the nation's economy.
ii. Goal: To increase awareness and interest in STEM pathways and careers among BHS students and
develop a STEM pipeline from high school to college that includes rigorous coursework and STEM
career experiences. We want to ensure that all BHS STEM students are positioned to have the
knowledge and opportunity to obtain STEM related careers.
b. Role of STEM Advisory Committee Members- Bradshaw
i. The Committee will:
1) Assist the BHS STEM team achieve the overarching goal.
2) Provide guidance and recommendations to the BHS STEM team.
3) Assist the BHS STEM team create business partnerships in STEM and provide BHS students
with exposure and access to STEM related professionals and industries, through internships
(work experience- paid or unpaid), apprenticeships (training programs), mentoring
experiences and other networking opportunities.
4) Assist in the creation of BHS STEM Vision and Mission Statement.
