In this interactive white board activity, the students will touch the board to move the
planets in order and find the planets names in a word search to learn about the order of

Activity
- The teacher will introduce the solar system by showing a
BrainPOP Jr. video on the solar system
- The teacher will read a comprehension leveled book
about the solar system and the planets and engage the
students in verbal discussion about the planets
- The teacher will assist the students in creating a
mnemonic device for remembering the order of the
planets (Sarah, My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us
Nachos).
- The teacher will assist the students in the SMART
Exchange activity on the SMART board; the teacher will
guide the students and give verbal or physical cues to
prompt the students to choose the correct answers.
