MATERIALS AND RESOURCES - Assignment

In the section Student files (at the bottom of this page), the students have a Word
document in which they will have to do the specific assignment of each subject, and
where they will find the instructions to do it properly. The assignments not done in the
document provided herein will not be assessed.

The students have to download the Word document in their computers and work there.
The assignment has to be submitted in the XP version or a previous one. If the students
use Windows/Office Vista, they have to click on Save as and select one of the older
versions. The document extension must be .doc.

Assignments weighing more than 2,5 MB will not be accepted.

FILE NAME

The assignment’s file name must contain the following information:

 The student's group.

 The student name's initial.
 The student's complete surnames.
 The subject's initials.

For example:

Stundent: Samuel López Cifuentes

Group: 22
Subject: Materials & Resources in EFL

The correct file name is: 22SLopezCifuentes_M&R 22SLopezCifuentes_M&R

2015-02CMejiaMMendoza_M&R

(Notice that the system allows neither accents nor the letter ñ, so these signs have to be
avoided).

Assignments not following these indications will not be accepted.

MATERIALS AND RESOURCES - Assignment

After finishing the assignment, the students have to submit it on the date shown in the
Academic Calendar. To do so, they have to follow these steps:

1. 1. In the section Submit Assignment (at the bottom of this page), click on
Upload file.
2. 2. In the new window, click on Browse (Examinar), select the assignment and
click on Upload.
3. 3. Then, click on the Submit Assignment button located at the bottom of the
page. This is very important because, if it isn't done, the assignment isn't sent.
In order to make sure that the assignment has been sent, it's advisable that,
before sending it, the students write an external email address on the
Notification folder. After having done so, they will receive an email saying that
their assignment has been submitted properly.

The Virtual Campus system does not accept assignments sent in after the deadline.

MATERIALS AND RESOURCES - Assignment

Assignment:

Carry out the following task

You are expected to submit a ‘kit’ of own-produced materials for a specified group of
learners in your current or a future context.

- The kit should be a coherent block of work, produced in response to some

observed need of the learners.
- It must be prefaced by a rationale, in which the issues that have been raised about
design, trialling, adaptation and evaluation in the subject are discussed, as they are
relevant to your circumstances and the materials. A rationale might include
discussion of the context, the age and level of the students, the nature of the
syllabus and materials used by the learners, the need you perceive, the belief about
language learning and teaching that the materials represent, and any other issues
that are relevant to your materials (for example because of the particular media
chosen).
- You must also include information about how you intend to evaluate the materials
when they are used.
- You must submit copies of the materials you produce, with the teacher’s
instructions that make it clear how they are to be used. Write these instructions as if
they were for another teacher who could use them.

Note: You may find it useful to refer to Reading 1 before you start this part of the
assignment. It is available in Assignment files section (at the same place where you
can find this paper).

Important: you have to write your personal details, the option and the subject
name on the cover (see the next page). The assignment that does not fulfil these
conditions will not be corrected. You have to include the assignment index below
the cover.
