1.0 Business Profile
1.1 Name Of The Company
We had come up with an idea to establish a business in food service and we will open a
cafe that sell mouth-watering dessert and beverages. Our cafe will be named as ‘Heart and
Soul Bakery Cafe’. We choose ‘Heart and Soul Bakery Cafe’ as our cafe name because as
we know, the word ‘heart’ is really special as it will give many meaning. For example, heart
is one part of organ in human body so, it is very precious to us as without heart we will die.
Next, ‘heart’ also means love which can bring happiness to people that in love. Then, the word
‘soul ’are the mental abilities of a living being likes the feeling, perception and thinking. We
choose the word ‘soul’ because we want our customers to feel happy, satisfied based on
customer perception and they can relax their mind at the Heart and Soul Bakery Cafe without
thinking about their problem.

1.2 Type Of Business


Heart and Soul Bakery Cafe is a cafe that sell dessert and beverages. We will sell dessert
and beverages such as crepe cake and coffee. We choose crepe cakes and coffee as our menu
because life is full of stress, the dessert and coffee are great solutions to relieve the stress and
also as a simple dessert can bring happiness to someone that enjoy it. Commonly, people like
sweet desserts and beverages such as cakes and coffee. The cakes and coffee will help them
to satisfy their craving for sweet.

Our main menu is ‘Crepe Cake’. Our crepe cakes have variety of flavour such as
chocolate, walnut, tiramisu, strawberry, orange, cheese crepe and other flavours. We also
accept orders for special occasion and the orders must be make in one or two days early. The
customers also can order a whole crepe cake with a special wish on the cake for a special
occasion likes for birthday, anniversary and wedding. Besides, we are serving every slice of
our crepe cakes with a cute drawing made by chocolate syrup to attract the customers. As for
the beverages, we will sell coffee, frappe, and smoothie in variety of flavours. Our main drink
is coffee but we will also sell other types of drink with various flavours that meet customers’
needs. Some of the flavours that we offer for coffee and frappe are latte, mocha, chocolate and
cappuccino. The flavours for smoothie are mango, watermelon and strawberry smoothie. Our
coffee is special as the customers can request the various types of drawing on the top surface
of the coffee which known as coffee art or latte art. Besides, the customers also can request

the amount of sugar they want in the drink that they order likes less sugar, normal and extra
sugar.

The reason we choose crepe cake as our main menu instead of a normal cake so that we
will be different from the other bakery cafe. As far as we know, there are no bakery cafe that
only sell the crepe cakes in Kedah especially in Sungai Petani. It can be the main attraction to
the customer to come and try our crepe cakes at the Heart and Soul Bakery Cafe. Besides, our
bakery cafe decoration with a peaceful environment also will attract the customers. There is
also no competition in this located area as we are the only cafe that sells cake and will be open
soon. This will make them curios about our café and encourage them to visit our cafe.
Furthermore, we put less sugar in our crepe cakes in order to satisfy the customers who care
about their health. The customers also can request whether they want the crepe cakes to be
sweet or less sweet if they make an early order for a whole cake especially for the special
occasion. We will make sure that the customers’ will be our priority while serving them. In
the appendix, there is some example of crepe cake and coffee that we will sell in our cafe.

1.3 Motto, Slogan, Vision And Mission

We are here to make every customer who comes to our café will feel love and happiness
into the crepe cakes and coffee. We will also serve them with the first class services.

This slogan clearly demonstrates our main products which are crepe cakes and coffees
that we offer.

“To be the leader in our market, offering high quality of desserts and coffees with
excellent services”
We aim to be the leading café chain that offers variety flavours of crepe cakes with low
sugar content that is good for health and also beverages in the market. At the same time, we
will make sure that the quality of the desserts and beverages are guaranteed come along with
the services.

The crepe cakes and coffee represent the main menu that sells at our café. The rainbow
crepe cakes represents, many kinds of crepe cakes flavour that sells at our café.

1.4.2 Green circle


Green circle represents friendly and peace. We serve our customers in a friendly manner.
We also provides a peace and calm environment. So, the customer can relax and enjoy their
time at our café.

1.4.3 Heart & Soul


Heart & Soul means we put all our effort to create our delicious crepe cake and coffee.
We tried to serve the most quality and delicious desserts to our customers.

1.5 Capital Funding and Spending
1.5.1 Sources Of Capital
Our company will start our business with an initial capital of RM250,000 from bank
loans and RM150,000 from personal contribution of shareholders which means each
contribute RM30,000 (20%). The company will be owned by five individuals, who are the
shareholders in the company. Alliance bank will be the main choice of our lending bank.
Besides that, our shareholder all is the fresh graduate from university. Therefore, we are
going to get the financing from Graduate Entrepreneur Fund (TUS) which provide a lower
interest rate of 4%. TUS is a financial facility designed especially for graduates. The fund
is a soft loan scheme for graduates to start a business in the services and industrial sector
and for those who already have an existing business. The capital funding of our company is
shown below:

1.5.2 Expenditures
Our company is a start-up business where the financial was earned from partners and
loan from the bank. We expected to raise RM150,000 from our partner and another
RM100,000 we were planning to have a loan from Graduate Entrepreneur Fund (TUS). Our
expenses will be fixed expenses which include kitchen appliances, furniture, equipment and
monthly expenses such as rental, salaries, publicity, materials and saving for emergency
uses. Total investment of our business is RM250,000. Part of the amount we gained from
personal saving while the other part we received from loan. These are our budget:

the organization policies and also as mastermind in an

1.7 Location Plan

The place or location plays an important role and is sure to affect our business. That is
why before setting up any business, we must first consider the location that we choose on
building up our business company. Our café is located at A68, Jalan 5, Cinta Sayang Resort
Home, 08000 Sungai Petani, Kedah which away from all the hustle and bustle of Sungai
Petani town. There are few possible sites to be considered which our café is near the
residential area like Cinta Sayang Resort Home and Bukit Banyan in East and Sejati area
which locates in the south. There are a lot of shops beside our café like Legend Music
Academy and Black Secret (Western Food).

The reason why we choose this location because our target is serving a nice dessert to
the people around this residential area. Second, the rental for the shop away from the town
is cheaper than the shop in the town. Third, even though the café away from the town,
consumers are willing to travel for a distance to have a taste of nice food with an affordable
price. Fourth, sufficient parking space and space road for loading goods and entrance giving
an advantage to us in doing the business daily either in management or sales perspective.

1.8 Promotion Tools
In marketing, promotion refers to any type of marketing communication used to inform
or persuade target audiences of the relative merits of a product, service, brand or issue. The
aim of promotion is to increase awareness, create interest, generate sales or create brand
loyalty. For our company, we chose web marketing as our promoting tool. Web marketing
is the process of using the Internet to market a business. It includes the use of social media,
search engines, blogging, videos, and email. We only chose two web marketing which is
website and Facebook. Here we provide some information about our marketing:

1.8.1 Website
Web site is a collection of related network web resources, such as web pages,
multimedia content, which are typically identified with a common domain name, and
published on at least one web server. Our website contains the ‘Home’ page as a first
customers’ view when they are looking for our website. Next, it also have ‘Our story’ page
describing the information about our café. Besides, it also provides ‘Menu’ page to give
customer all of the description and price of crepe cake, coffee, and others. There are also
provided our address and location as well as opening hours as it will be easy for the customer
to contact us. Then, the customer can give their feedback by filling the form that are
provided on the ‘Contact Us’ page. Lastly, we will always updating our posting frequently

1.8.2 Facebook
Facebook is one of the media used by us to promote our café. Facebook is the ideal
social media to promote a business as there are many active users throughout the year. This
can helps our café to grow and become more popular. In the Facebook we provide all
information regarding our café. Through this social media we can update latest menu that
we provide at our café. All the customer will be more alert and it could attract many
customer to visit our café. We will also update if there is any holiday promotion in our café
through Facebook. We will give 10% discount for one slice of crepe cake every Friday. If
there is any promotion code will be given through Facebook this is one of the way to attract
