The Tartan was able to
get an interview with the four
professors to learn more about
their trip coming to Radford.
A lot went into planning
their visit; before being able to
travel overseas, the group had
to be approved by the Chinese
Foreign Ministry. They needed
both business and personal
passports, and they needed to
get visas from the US Embassy in
China. It took three months to
plan the trip and get it approved.

In their time here, they
visited the Blue Ridge Parkway
and led an Intercultural Studies
class where they introduced
students to Chinese culture.
They also said their visit
was key to establishing a
collaboration between Radford
University and Southwest
University. There is no official
statement from the university
about this yet.
Liu did much of the talking
during the interview, while Dr.
Shou Yao, Associate Professor
at Radford University’s School
of Communication, was able to
help translate.
Liu said that Radford’s
campus “Impressed us a lot,”
and that she “found the students
quite satisfied being here.”
They each explained just how
different the two universities
are, just by the sheer numbers
their university has over 26,000
students.
Nevertheless, they enjoyed
their visit and appreciated the
campus and the student body.
Liu finished by stating,
“This is the reason we want
to establish the collaboration
between these two universities.”

Tackling the Challenges of a Growing Community

Horton maintains an optimistic
view.
Mayor Horton has been a
member of Radford’s community
for many years, and now as the
Mayor, he aims to invest in the
future of his community. Mayor
Horton seeks to evolve the city
by maximizing Radford’s assets.
Mayor Horton plans to focus on
things that can be improved, to
provide a better quality of life
for his community.
He noted this at a press
conference held at Radford
University during Dr. Twange
Kasoma’s specialized journalism
course, on Feb. 4, 2019. Students
questioned mayor Horton

The VACAS conference was
a two-day conference which
started on Friday, Mar. 29, 2019
and ended Saturday, March 30,
2019.
Three Radford University
students used media to redefine
the boundaries of the different

University student, composed
a qualitative content analysis,

culture in contemporary
American culture. Barefoot
expressed his fascination with

a presentation. “I find a lot of

that might not meet your
everyday American, lifestyle,”
said Barefoot.

Solo Artist Garcian Performing at Bonnieroo

ne of the guests
performing at this year’s
BonnieRoo is a solo pop
singer from Chapel Hill, NC,
Garcian D’Cruz.
The Tartan got in contact
with Garcian via email to see
what he is all about, and what
Radford can expect from his
performance.
Being from North Carolina,
it seems like a long way from
home, but having connections
on the inside goes a long way.
“My friend Jason Byrley is the
one who helped me set it up.
He knows the event coordinator
at Radford University,” said
Garcian.
His journey through music
has been quite an interesting
ride, having performed in high
school and college A cappella
groups and the all-male group
Smooth Progress at Elon
University. Garcian said, “Since
then, I have always enjoyed
singing and performing, but
have stage fright, so it is a love-
hate relationship.”

affordable food with a
decent taste to go with
it.
This was my first time going
to this restaurant, and I am a big
fan of hibachi and sushi places,
so I decided to give this place
a try. It was a little confusing
at first because it wasn’t the
typical hibachi restaurant
where a chef makes the food in
front of you. You come in and
order the food at the front and
either get carry out or dine in.
Of course, I ordered the
hibachi steak and shrimp
($10.00). It was served with

“I always liked to sing but didn’t
really think it was going to be
a big part of my life. I started
out the way we all do - in the
shower,” Garcian said.
He lists some of his biggest
musical influences as Life of
Dillon, Jon Bellion, Ben Howard,
and Quinn XCII, and says his
music can connect to those
who are fans of indie-pop, with
artists such as Jon Bellion.
He says that he enjoys
writing songs about personal
experiences of his own or
someone he knows, “I like
everything to be based on a true
story as they say. I feel like if I
don’t write from experience,
then I won’t really be able to
perform and feel passionate
about my own music.”
When Garcian performed at
Elon University, he released his
very first full-length album last
year and has just recently put
out his latest single Hollow Love
at the beginning of March.
“Surreal was an amazing
project that was never supposed
to happen,” said Garcian. The
success of his single ‘Secrets’ is
what brought the idea for a full-
length album to life, and thus
Surreal came to be. He tells us
zucchini, onions, broccoli,

mushrooms, egg fried rice,
and yum yum sauce if desired.
When the meal was ready, I was
excited by the smells of a sweet,
tangy, meatiness. It was mouth-
watering. It looked a little over-
saturated in oils, and the meat
didn’t look exactly tender but
still looked like a tasty meal.
The yum yum sauce added
much flavor to the meal. It
mixed well with the rice, adding
sweet tanginess to every bite.
The steak and shrimp weren’t
very tender, bordering on over-
cooked. It didn’t explode with
juiciness, yet still added flavor
to the meal that was better
there than not.
The oils made the rest of
the food a little sweet instead
that after all of the success they
began to compile previous songs
he had released and put them
together for an album.
Garcian said, “It was a surreal
experience (hence the name),
and it was a very emotional
journey as I got to see people
enjoy my music.” Needless to
say, releasing an album has truly
been a huge accomplishment
for him. “It was a dream of mine
that I still, to this day, can’t
believe it came true,” he stated.
“I have [been] blessed with such
an amazing music team that the
process was very fluid.”
Although as a solo vocalist
and a one-person act in the
studio, Garcian does plan to
have a backup band performing
with him at BonnieRoo.
Garcian mentioned that
some of his favorite songs to
perform live include, Secrets,
Cocktail Dress, and Overload.
“Everyone who knows those
songs as the original Garcian
songs and so there is always an
amazing reaction when people
realize I am about to sing those
songs,” he stated. “Plus it makes
me feel like a rockstar when I
sing them; I won’t lie.”
Although you may not be
familiar with his work just yet,
of the saltiness that I would
expect. It was a touch too sweet
but still good. The texture of
the vegetables was satisfyingly
crunchy and soft as it needed
to be.
The portion sizes for the
price was filling enough to hit
that comfortably full feeling,
but I was tempted to try some
of the sushi.
The atmosphere was calm
and comfortable. It wasn’t
overly busy or loud, and it was
easy to have a conversation
without many distractions.
The staff was friendly, and
everything was tidy. The
design had an authentic Asian
restaurant feel. The location
of the restaurant is close to
the university which is perfect

A Movie Review

hazam! is by far one of
DC’s happier and family-
friendly movies, if they
ever had any, and that’s not
a bad thing. It’s a story that’s
not only hilarious but about
growing and the responsibility
that comes with gaining great
power. Even though it was
less serious than previous
DC movies, I was left feeling
excited to see more Shazam
movies in the future.
This movie seemed not to
have any more substantial or
dark expectations. It had the
luxury of being carefree, fun,
and childlike in its own way,
while also facing adult realities.
Billy Batson, in gaining his
powers to become Shazam he
must prove that he was the
right person chosen and was
the last hope there is.
The main message of the
story revolves around the
treatment of children and the
effects it can have; but also the
choices to decide whom they
want to become. Resulting in
Billy Batson in being a hero
for good, and the motivations
of the villain which aren’t so
good.
Shazam!
When it comes to Billy’s
character, you see him evolve
from a person who makes
mistakes, and even breaks the
law, but learns from them,
and grows into a stronger,
better person form it, all while
finding out what it is to have a
real family.
Another standout character
is Billy’s foster house room-
mate Freddie played by Jack
Grazer. He becomes Billy’s
mentor in discovering his
abilities and moving the
story along with some of the
funniest scenes in the movie
and a blossoming of a strong
friendship.
WHATEVER IT IS, WE HAVE
A SPACE FOR IT HERE!
As Ryan Reynolds is THE
Deadpool, Zachary Levi is THE
Shazam. When his role comes in
to play, he practically steals the
movie being a 14-year-old boy
in a superhero’s body. He comes
off hilariously and bounces off
Grazer’s character quite well
with all their hi-jinks. Despite
some of the slower parts of the
movie, it’s this team up that
carries the movie well while
also making fun of cliches in
other superhero movies.
Mark Strong plays the
villain Dr. Sivana. The movie
gives you a reason to feel bad
for him and also serves to
flesh out the larger theme of
Watch out, he’ll get
you with his blue eye!

villain by any means, which is
ok given the comedic nature of
the story.
Overall, Shazam! stands
out as a more comedic but
strong DC comic book movie.
It humorously establishes its
place in the DC universe with
references to Batman and
Superman while also standing
on its own being unique in
story and lightheartedness. It
also gives hope to the future of
DC movies despite the Justice
League movie falling short of
expectations.
Overall: 8/10

“Fake News” is Overhyped

he news media has been
under fire since it’s birth;
however, in recent years
the fire has grown.
“Fake news” has become a
popular phrase, mostly due to
President Donald Trump, who
frequently uses the phrase to
slander journalists and news
organizations.
The phrase is used when
describing the news that consists
of deliberate misinformation ...
at least it’s supposed to.
In a tweet last year Pres.
Trump went as far as to call the
news media “the true Enemy of
the People.” However, during
Pres. Trump has been making
accusations; he has been a
contributor to fake news himself.
A fact-checking database on
The Washington Post’s website
shows that Pres. Trump has
made 9,451 false or misleading
claims, as of Mar. 31, 2019.
While fake news does exist,
it doesn’t exist in the mass that
Pres. Trump would have you
believe.
A study was done by a group
of political scientists, assessing
information quality in the 2018
U.S. midterm election campaign.
Among the scientists involved
in the study was Dr. Brendan
Nyphan, a Political Science

Dr. Nyphan said that fake
news websites (defined as sites
that frequently publish false or
misleading claims that favor one
of the presidential candidates)
“made up only about 2 percent
of the information people
consumed from websites.”
To refer to the news media
as the enemy is a very bold and
reckless statement when there
is little evidence to suggest that
proper news organizations have
published misinformation.
The problem of
misinformation lies in the hands
of internet scammers.
Today, a website can be
created by anyone to spread
false rumors. There are “nearly
200 fraudulent domains
that were nearly identical to
the publications’ legitimate
domain names,” according to
Domain Tools, a domain analyst
company. For example, there
was a fake news site with the
domain, nytimesoffical.com,
mimicking the New York Times
website, nytimes.com. These
websites look very similar to
official news organizations’
sites and can trick people into
believing fake news.
Misinformation is prevalent
in social media as well. Anyone
can create a social media
account, and again anyone can
spread false rumors on it. Due

That’s many people viewing
news on an unchecked source.
In this article, the term news
media is being used to describe
established news organizations
whose works are written by
professional journalists and
backed up by fact checkers. The
news media is different from
social media and fake news sites,
and should not be roped into
the blame for misinformation.
However, that is what has
happened, and distrust between
the media and the public has
ensued.
Support for the news
media has been dwindling,
and this will only lead to more
misinformation. A lack of funds
will cause the news media to
rely on shaky sources such as
social media instead of original
reporting. Reporters and
journalists will be laid off too,
meaning there will be fewer
people to observe and hold our
leaders responsible.
The Washington
slogan, “Democracy Dies in
Post’s
Darkness,” is very telling of
what would happen if we didn’t
have a free press if we were “in
the dark.” The reason we have a
successful democracy is because
of informed voters. If we didn’t

have the press reporting the
news, then democracy would fall
apart.
So, instead of bashing the
news media, it would be smart
to support it. Easy ways to show
support are by purchasing a
newspaper or online newspaper
subscription, reading articles
from credible sources, reading
from multiple sources, and
reading from social media less.
We vote with our attention
and money, and by doing these
things, we will be supporting
honest, informative journalism. The

to be dedicated to making sure
that its wonderful students have
access to all of the resources that one
may need to succeed at this institution,
however, here are my top five vital
resources that you should be using now.
1. Student Counseling Services
The counseling center at Radford
University offers free, confidential
mental health services for students
while also providing many learning
opportunities for students to grow as
individuals.
Whether it’s working on relationships
with peers or even developing yourself
to become the best person you can be,
the counseling center can help you. The
counseling centers walk-in hours are
from Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. - 3
p.m. in the lower level of Tyler Hall.
2. The Harvey Knowledge Center
This great resource, formerly
known as the Learning Assistance and
Resource Center (LARC), is accessible to
all Radford University students. At the
HKC, workers focus on helping students
develop their learning skills while also
gaining confidence. They also consult
students so that they can navigate
positively when faced with a tough
course or assignment.
They offer various services for
students such as one-on-one assistance,
as well as small groups on multiple
subjects such as science and math. This
center will even provide you tips on how
to study, as well as time management
skills when working on your academics;
it won’t do anything but help you show
progress academically.
HKC is located on the 4th floor of the
McConnell Library.
3. The Center for Accessibility
Services (CAS)
The workers here aim to create
comfortable environments for the center
that are diverse, accessible, and inclusive
which can be found in Russell Hall (3rd-
floor Suites 301-327).
4. McConnell Library
The McConnell Library here at
Radford strives to focus on helping
students and faculty succeed. The
wonderful workers often focus on
supporting research, scholarship, and
they are even open to the consideration
of new ideas.
During my time here at Radford
University, I’ve overheard many students
mention how they’ve never stepped
inside of our library, and I am surprised.
Being a Library Advisor this semester
has helped me understand that the
library is one of the best, if not the best,
resource here at Radford University for
students. They have many settings for
visitors, even if you’re looking for a
comfortable environment to study or a
place for a group venture in the library.
They are open 7 days a week and they
also offer extended hours during exam
periods.
5. Substance Abuse and Violence
Education Support (SAVES)
The SAVES office here at Radford
University focuses on dropping
destructive significances related to
substance abuse or violence through
campus-wide proposals that address
issues.
Many students think this office is a
negative place, but they want students
to be successful. They offer some great
amenities such as educational resources,
The RU Aware program, and even Peer
Health Educators along with various
groups that focus on specific situations.
I hope that this inspires you and
that you gained some knowledge to take
advantage of these great resources here
here is a lot of history surrounding
our campus. Most of the buildings
are dedicated to key figures who
helped shape the university when they’re
people who don’t often think about the
stories behind these buildings; however,
they make for great history lessons.
Perhaps the most well-known
building on campus is Muse Hall. This
building is the largest residence hall
on campus that houses 900 students on
13 floors. It was completed in 1970 and
named after Leonard G. Muse. Muse was
the first Rector of the College Board of
Visitors.
Tyler Hall was named after Governor
James Hoge Tyler of Radford. It was
the first building that was built as a
residence hall. Construction began in
1914, and the first unit was completed in
1915. The second unit was completed in
1917 and the third unit in 1923.
These three units were separate
residence halls for years. The names
of these residence halls were Tyler,
Norwood, and McGuffey. The whole
building became known as Tyler Hall
after 1931, and other buildings were
given the names Norwood and McGuffey.
Norwood Hall was built in 1939
using funds from the U.S. Public Works
Administration which it was dedicated
to the family who formerly owned the
property Radford University was built
on.
Walker Hall was named after Dr.
Thomas Walker, an early explorer of
Southwest Virginia. Construction began
in 1935 and also used funds from the U.S.
Public Works Administration. An annex
was completed in 1964 and more than
doubled the size of the building.
Jefferson and Madison Halls were
named after Presidents Thomas Jefferson
and James Madison, who were from
Virginia. Both residence halls opened in
1967.
Russell Hall was the second residence
Elizabeth Henry Campbell Russell, who
was the sister of Patrick Henry. She
was also the wife of William Campbell
and William Russell, who fought in the
Revolutionary War and were hailed as
heroes.
Washington Hall was completed in
1967 and was initially in a low place on
campus. It was developed in the 1920s in
a sunken garden surrounded by flowers,
trees, and shrubs. For a long time, it was
used for May Day and other outdoor
activities.
Ingles Hall was completed in Spring
1950 and was named after Mary Draper
Ingles. She was the heroine of the Drapers
Meadow Massacre of 1755. Ingles Hall
was the first building built across Fairfax
Street from Radford University’s original
campus.
Draper Hall was constructed in 1959
and named after Bettie Draper. Like Mary
Draper Ingles, Bettie Draper was also
captured by Native Americans at Drapers
Meadow. Her husband later rescued her.
Moffett Hall was completed in 1965
and named after Dr. M’Ledge Moffett.
Dr. Moffett was a professor and served as
the Dean of Women from 1913 to 1962.
McConnell Library was named after
Dr. John Preston McConnell, the first
president of Radford University. It
was completed in 1932 and originally
had two floors. These two floors were
supplemented in 1967 by an annex of
four floors.
Young Hall was completed in 1968 as
both a classroom and office building. It
was named after former dean Dr. Robert
Young.
This is just a small part of the history
of our campus. A lot has changed over
the years, while the buildings themselves
have remained intact. I encourage
everyone to read about the history of
their school.

Coach Mike Jones is Here to Stay

Men’s basketball head coach
Mike Jones took Radford to a
second consecutive Big South
Championship game; Coach
Jones has been handed a
contract extension for three
more years (until the end of the
2024-25 season).
Coach Jones was given a
contract extension in 2018, but
after a superb season as head
coach for the Highlanders, he
was offered another contract
to keep him on board for a few
more years.
Coach Jones has been
Radford’s head basketball
coach since 2011. Since then,
Jones has led the Highlanders
to 138 victories which makes
Coach Jones the third all-
time winningest coach in
program history. He has also
led Radford to two consecutive
Big South championship game
appearances (2017-18, 2018-19)
as well as the programs first-
ever NCAA March Madness
Victory over LIU Brooklyn.
Huffman: Big South Pitcher of the Week

ayla Huffman has
dominated from the
pitcher’s mound over
the past four years, and while
she is currently in her senior
season, it’s shaping up to be an
unforgettable one.
In 2018, as a junior, Huffman
had a remarkable season
that earned her Big South
All-Conference Honorable
Mention honors, as she made
30 appearances and 14 starts
leading the Highlanders to an
11-5 record while being the
only pitcher in the Big South
that did not allow a triple. She
also led the Highlanders with
an impressive 2.01 ERA which

Some of his honors include
2017-18 NABC Coach of the year
as well as the Big South Coach of
the Year in the 2017-18 season.
He has also taken Radford to
four winning seasons, meaning
that they got more wins than
losses in a season.
Jones led Radford to two
back to back seasons where the
Highlanders won more than 22
games (2013-14, 2014-15).
Before taking the head
coach’s position with Radford,
Coach Jones was an assistant
coach for numerous teams,
most notably was his time with
VCU. It was there (in VCU) were
Coach Jones was part of VCU’s
impressive run to the Final Four
of March Madness in the 2010-
11 season.
In the 2018-19 season Coach
Jones took Radford to an overall
record of 22-11 and 12-4 vs.
Big South opponents. Not to
mention that Radford also got
two wins vs. Notre Dame and
No.17 Texas.
This impressive record was
enough to see Radford share
the Big South regular-season
championship with Campbell
University and it also gained
Radford the second seed in the
Big South playoffs.

The 5ft 7inch King William,
Va. native, has undoubtedly
been an exciting player over the
past two weeks for the Radford
University Softball team. Her
impressive gameplay has earned
her the Big South pitcher of the
week award for the week of April
1, making it the second straight
week she’s received this honor.
Huffman played a significant
role in every victory the
Highlanders secured. She went
on to pick up her first two saves
of the season during her dynamic
stretch of games this week.
Her first save came during the
game against The University of
Virginia Cavaliers on March 26.
During that game, she also was
responsible for three straight
Radford made a good playoff
run by making it to the final for
the second year in a row. The
Highlanders beat Presbyterian
in the quarterfinals, Charleston
Southern in the semi-final,
and in the final game of the
tournament they came up short
to Gardner-Webb.
Two of Coach Jones’ players
received season awards, Senior
Ed Polite Jr. won Big South
Defensive Player of The Year, and
Sophomore Carlik Jones made
the first team all-conference.
In the 2017-18 season Coach
Jones achieved a school record of
23 wins in a season. In that same
season, Coach Jones became the
third coach in Radford’s history
to reach 100 wins as well as
picking up the Continental Tire
Las Vegas Classic title.
It’s safe to say that Coach
Jones has left his mark in
Radford Basketball history and
with this contract extension

Szamski & Bryant Slide into Honors Once Again

outfielder Andrew Szamski and
Freshman infielder David Bryant
claiming individual awards.
Andrew Szamski, the Glenn
Arm Maryland native #8, has
been named the Big South
Conference Player of the Week
for the second time this season.
Szamski also earned national
recognition for ‘Performance
of the Week’ from USA Golden
Spikes this past Tuesday, April 2,
following a series sweep against
Winthrop.

Men’s and Women’s
Tennis hosted USC
Upstate. Both teams prevailed,
improving their overall and Big
South records. The matches
were hosted at the Radford
Tennis Complex and proved an
entertaining sight.
Men’s Tennis
Radford men’s tennis began the
match with doubles. Ultimately
losing that point to the Spartans,
the men came back with a
vengeance in singles.
Andres Silva, a freshman from
Venezuela, swept his opponent
6-0, 6-0, on court 6. Silva tied the
score 1-1, with his teammates
coming up and adding while
for Big South Conference
Freshman Player of the Week for
the second time this season as

Both Bryant and Szamski
have aided the Highlanders in a
turnaround during this stretch
of the season.
Bryant had an impressive
four-game streak, hitting in all

From the plate, Bryant went
6-for-13 and drove in six total

also stole two separate bases
and racked up 15 assists from
the center of the infield at

Croatia, won 6-4, 6-3.
Michiel Meekers, a redshirt
senior from Belgium, pushed
Radford to a 3-1 lead after his
6-3, 6-3 victory. Needing just
one more point to win the
overall match, the Highlanders
pushed on.
The point was found by
Alexandros Caldwell, a senior
from Greece, who earned his
14th win of the season after his
1-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory on court 3.
Rodrigo Magalhaes, a junior
from Portugal, added to the
winning effort with a 6-3, 6-7 (6-
8), 10-5 win on court 1. Wrapping
up the match and giving Radford
their final point, Yevhn Sirous
took the court. The sophomore
from Ukraine went into three
sets with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win on
court 2.
Szamski tallied two homers,
three doubles, and 12 RBIs
over the four-game stretch. In
the second game of the series
against Winthrop, he made
Radford program history going
6-for-6 with two doubles, two
homers, eight RBIs and 14 total
bases on the day.
Szamski doubled in
consecutive at-bats in the second
and third innings. He also added
home runs in successive at-bats
in the fifth and seventh innings.
Szamski is now tied with Junior
Infielder Spencer Horowitz with
six home runs apiece.
The six hits and 14 total bases
tied the Radford single-game
record. Szamski will forever be
inscribed into the Highlanders’
Baseball history books with this
spectacular feat.
The victory over the USC
Upstate Spartans gave Radford
men’s tennis their 14th overall
season win. The Highlanders are
14-4, and 5-1 in the Big South
conference. They are only two
wins away from tying their most
conference wins from the 2012
season.
Radford will be hosting their
senior/alumni day on Sunday,
April 7. The Highlanders will be
taking on Presbyterian, a Big
South foe. Next, they will be
traveling to their final Big South
match against Campbell in Buies
Creek, NC. Campbell is currently
the league-leader.
Women’s Tennis
Radford’s women’s tennis team
proved to be an unstoppable
force against USC Upstate. The
Highlanders swept the Spartans

On the series, Szamski went
10-13 (.769) from the dish
pulling his season average up to
.390 which leads the Big South.
He also leads the conference
with 68 total bases, tied for the
league-lead with 33 RBIs, second
in slugging (.648) and third in
on-base percentage at .460.
The Highlanders recorded
21 hits for a season-high mark
in the contest. They scored two
runs in the bottom of the first
to get on the board at the start.
Both teams traded runs in the
first inning, but it wasn’t until
Szamski knocked his first extra-
base hit into center field that
sparked their run streak.
Scoring six runs on five hits
in the bottom of the eighth put
the match out of reach, and
Szamski put the icing on the
7-0, defending their home turf.
The match started in doubles
where the Highlanders gained
the early lead. Drousile Dzeubou,
a junior from Italy, and Tyler
Blalock, a sophomore from
Abingdon, VA, defeated they’re
rivaling opponents. The women
came out victorious 5-4.
Malin Falk, a freshman from
Sweden, and Katey Fruehauf,
a freshman from Milton, GA,
took the court soon after. The
freshman duo made quick work
of the Spartans, defeating them
6-1.
The final doubles match to
take place, Jeanine Acierto, a
sophomore from Chantilly, VA,
and Anastasia Belyaeva, a junior
from Russia, clinched the final
point with a 6-2 victory.
Moving onto singles, the
Highlanders kept the intensity
cake in the final inning. Szamski
hit a walk-off two-run homer in
the bottom of the ninth as the
Highlanders took the victory
20-11 in the second game.
Highlanders also defeated App
State Tuesday.
Szamski and Bryant both
led the Highlanders on a seven-
game win streak, which evened
out their record at 13-13, as well
as an impressive stand within
the Big South Conference at 7-3.
The Highlanders are now
just playing under .500 ball
after dropping a game to ETSU
in Johnson City, TN in a highly
contested game, dropping the
game 5-6. The Radford Men
participated in a home series
against USC Upstate for another
Big South Contest.

the match with a 6-2, 6-7, 10-5
win and gave Radford their final
point.
The Highlanders will be hosting
their final three matches of the
regular season at home. Radford
will take on Bluefield State on
April 10 and NC Central on April
13.
