B. In pairs, create your own reservation dialog based on the following situations.
Situation 1
The Smith’s family is going to have a vacation in Belitung from July 15 to July 20. During their vacation, they want to stay in
the Bagawan Hotel. Since the Smuth’s family consists of four people (parents and two daughters), they need 2 double-bed
rooms with a beach view. To make sure her family will get the appropriate rooms, Mrs. Smith makes reservation first.
Situation 2
The Rangkuti’s family is going to have dinner at the Queen Restaurant on August 5 at 7 p.m. They need a table for five in
the non-smoking section. Mr. Rangkuti will make a reservation first to make sure they get the table they want.

Siswa mampu menyimak berbagai macam ungkapan untuk mengungkapkan instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu
dengan tepat.
2. Speaking
Siswa mampu mengungkapkan, dan merespon ungkapan instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu yang sesuai dengan
situasi yang diberikan.
3. Reading
Siswa mampu membaca paragraf, teks yang berisi tentang instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu; menterjemahkannya;
menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan isi bacaan tersebut.
4. Writing
Siswa mampu menyusun, dan melengkapi dialog yang berisi tentang instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu.


 Listening to a dialog for information and answering questions;
 Listening and deciding if the statements are true or false;
 Listening to each of the manuals and giving a suitable title;
 Answering questions asked by teacher.
2. Kegiatan Inti
 Identifying the common expressions of giving instructions from a manual;
 Reading a dialog and answering questions;
 In pairs, making a similar dialog with one of the situations given;
 Reading for information and answering questions;
 Identifying the sequence of instructions and linking words;
 Rearranging sentences into good instructions;
 Writing some instructions based on the pictures;

 Students hand in their work;

Contoh soal:
A. Rearrange the sentences below into good instructions.

 If a window doesn’t appear, open the Start menu and select Setting then Control Panel.
 In the top part of the window that appears, click Install.
 Place the floopy disk or CD-ROM containing the program in the appropriate drive.
 Double click Add/ Remove Programs.
 Note that most of the time, a window will immediately appear asking if you want to install the program. Click Install.
B. Work in pairs tomake a short dialogue which has todo with instruction to operate something. Use the situation of
your own!

Siswa mampu membaca paragraf, teks yang berisi tentang standar operasional prosedur (SOP);
menterjemahkannya; menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan isi bacaan tersebut.
4. Writing
Siswa mampu menyusun, dan melengkapi dialog yang berisi tentang SOP

 Retelling the content of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);
 Understanding and discussing about Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);

 Writing a procedure of doing something.

A. Change the following sentences into imperative sentences

1. in the office, all waste is collected in aseparate bin with clear signs and color coding, as appropriate.
2. Adequate bins shall be provided in the office.
3. A bin is located in the kitchen on each floor, and the café operates its own bin
4. limited amount of general waste bins shall be placed in the office, not at each employee’s desk

6. cleaners shall empty all bins in the office daily, and place segregated waste into specifically marked bins in the
loading dock for contractor collection.
7. Contractors shall remove waste and deal with it according to contract requirements. Significant contamination of
waste for recycling shall be operated to the EMS Co- ordinator. Similary, an occurance of a significant recyclable
waste in the general waste bon shall also be reported.
