How to be Safe on the Road

How to be Save on the Road

We always hear the saying “It is better to be

safe than sorry”. This is true as in the case of safety
on the road. There are many things that we must be

alert to in order to be save on the road. For

pedestrians, please use the pedestrian bridges if there

are. Alternatively, use the zebra crossing. Traffic will

come to a standstill to allow pedestrians walk safely

across the road. Always walk towards traffic flow, not against.

At all times, please obey traffic lights. Motorists

and those riding or driving vehicles do prepare to stop
once the traffic lights turn amber. Don’t use the mobile

phones or any electrical gadgets like the Ipad when

you are driving or walking. This is beacause you need to

focus on your driving and not on your gadgets.
At night, when visibility is very low,

please do wear light coloured clothing. You can

also wear reflective gears. This is to avoid

other drivers from knocking you down.
You may have eye contact with the driver to
ensure you have been seen. And, remember to keep looking for oncoming traffic
while crossing the road.
