Translate Appendix I interval width to Z scale (Provide process. And upload to LMS system in .pdf file. )

First Step: Calculate the frequency for each interval width

From the Appendix I interval we can calculate the frequency for each interval width by counting the
column of the bar chart.

Second step: Find the sample proportion (p)

Calculate each sample proportion (p) for each interval width by using the formula,
X number of items in the sample having the characteri stic of interest
p 
n sample size

Third step: Find the population means for each interval width

μp= ( Σ Xi ) / N
Where,

( Σ Xi ) =Frequency

N= Number of items in population

Fourth Step: Find the sample standard variation using the formula,

π (1  π )
σp 
n

Where,

μp  π

Fifth Step: standardize p to a Z value with the formula,

p  p 
Z 
σp  (1   )
n
Hence,

Interval Width Frequency, Sample

proportion, p
1 0 0
3 2 0.02
5 5 0.05
7 15 0.15
9 20 0.2
11 23 0.23
13 16 0.16
15 14 0.14
17 5 0.05
19 0 0
100 1

Third step: Find the population means for each interval width

μp= ( Σ X) / N
= 100/10

=10

Fourth Step: Find the sample standard variation using the formula,

π (1  π )
σp 
n

√10(1−10)
= 100

√−90
= 100

=0.9487

Fifth Step: standardize p to a Z value with the formula,

p  p 
Z 
σp  (1   )
n
Hence,

Interval Width Frequency, X Sample proportion, p Z value

1 0 0 -10.5407
3 2 0.02 -10.5197
5 5 0.05 -10.4880
7 15 0.15
9 20 0.2
11 23 0.23
13 16 0.16
15 14 0.14
17 5 0.05
