WHY THE SCHOOL WAS SET UP

Many youngsters are orphaned in Uganda. They are set in homes with extended families; however, with
the additional weight on officially huge families, the majority of them don't have the chance to go to
school. Many are casualties of child exploitation and others move to the streets. The individuals who do
go to school get low-quality instruction, as the schooling standard in remote zones is low. Instruction of a
higher standard and mindfulness about the child exploitation are required in the group. This is the reason
why Bombo Trinity Primary School, Luweero was set up. Where some take a gander at the requirements
and torment on the planet with gloom or lack of engagement, Bombo Trinity Primary School sees
enormous open door and benefit to serve poor people, impaired, underestimated and overlooked. We are
focused on being in the worldwide bleeding edge of alleviation and improvement.

A WORD FROM THE FOUNDER
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school. We trust that you will enjoy exploring
our website and will discover for yourself why we believe that Bombo Trinity Primary School is
such an exciting and vibrant place to learn.

If you would like further information about the school or want to arrange a visit, please do not
hesitate to contact us via info@bombotrinity.sch.ug or on +256772514571.

I live in a town where there are many street children and homeless people, I then asked some
questions based on their way of living such as; where do they stay, where do they get food from
and how often do they eat. They told me that they do not have homes, they just stay anywhere
around town mostly where there are people, like next to nightclubs hoping to get some food,
money, and drinks from these people and they sometimes eat once in a day. Mainly they get food
from dustbins. This is where Bombo Trinity Primary School, a good foundation nursery started
then I had a vision of seeing them changing from what they are and bring hope in their lives for
the future and as well as giving them support physically, emotionally and mentally to start all
over again and be what they would love to see themselves be in life Best private Primary Schools

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES
You are here: Bombo Trinity Primary School → Governors home → Committees

You are most welcome to Bombo Trinity Primary School website. We do value your membership
with us and hope you will keep posted on all developments going on at Bombo Trinity
PrimaryvSchool. Thank you.

The committees of the Governing Body deal with matters in detail. There are 4 governors’
committees: Finance Committee, Personnel, Salaries and Well-being Committee, Premises
Committee, Curriculum Committee. The full Governing Body meets twice a term, as do
committees.

Learning and Achievement Committee

This committee is perhaps the subcommittee most directly concerned with the delivery of
education by the school. We get regular reports from the deputy head on progress of children,
and periodically we have more detailed discussions on particular areas. We discuss new
opportunities and regulations when they arise, and the relevant bits of the “School Improvement
Plan”. We regularly visit the school and see lessons in progress – this enables us to understand
better the challenges and skills involved in raising standards of teaching and learning.

Current members: Lugolobi Emmanuel, (chair), Kasirye Joel, Zziwa Abdulsalaam (co-opted),
Buyinza Alice, Lubwama Joachim.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees the school financial planning and draws up the budget for
discussion and approval by the full governing body. The committee monitors carefully the
school’s ongoing financial performance and examines in detail the financial implications of
proposals, decisions and recommendations by the school management and governors.

Current members: Muhindo David (co-opted), Buyinza Alice, Lugolobi Emmanuel, Catherine
Nalwoga, Buyinza James (Chair)

Personnel, Salaries and Well-being

The Personnel, Salaries and Wellbeing committee is responsible, on behalf of the governing body
and in collaboration with the Headteacher, for all issues in respect of staffing, teachers’ salaries
and the wellbeing of pupils and staff. The committee consists of five governors and the
Headteacher, it meets twice a term and regularly monitors staff and pupil attendance, pupil
behaviour and any exclusions, safeguarding issues and any incidents of bullying. A member of
this committee normally sits on appointments panels for all teacher and some support staff
appointments and, together with the Headteacher, advises on the staffing structure of the school
within the budget. The committee also meets in closed session to consider any confidential
staffing issues brought by the Headteacher.

As with other sub committees there are a number of policies which need to be regularly reviewed
and updated; these are considered in committee before being ratified, by the governing body.

Current Members: Buyinza Alice (Chair), Zziwa Abdulsalaam, Muhindo David, Buyinza James,
Kasirye Joel

Premises Committee

The main function of the Premises Committee is to advise the Head Teacher on matters relating
to the school building and physical environment. This includes the monitoring of the security and
management of the premises, health and safety, accessibility matters, maintenance schedules and
energy conservation. The committee meets twice every term with extra meetings to monitor
major building works when carried out.

Current Members: Buyinza James (Chair), Daniel Yawe, Ismail Kafeero, Chef
Kambunda(Associate Member), Nintege Allen (Associate Member)
Every penny raised will help children at Bombo Trinity and your generosity will make a real

ANALYSIS Welfare Debate
Sanitation Games And Sports

The School employs approximately 35 teachers and some 8 non teaching staffs.

The above teachers serve different roles apart from teaching in the school in

matters of leadership in the field of welfare, sanitation, career guidance, woman

affairs, debate, games and sports, campus affairs among others.

Each month a teacher at Bombo Trinity Primary School earns between 60- 120US$

as a monthly salary. This amount is far little as compared to what the Government

offers to its teachers in public schools who earn between 100 – 145$

Any amount donated towards support of teachers helps the management to add

extra funds or welfare logistics or tokens to the staff at the school. On the other

hand you may choose from the list above and pay a salary to a certain teacher.
Support the School Management by contributing towards a Teacher’s Salary by donating any
amount to benefit a School Teacher at the school. These Teachers are doing a good work at
helping out in grooming children with a balanced.

Many thanks in advance for contributing towards our

Staff Salaries.

awareness, moral and ethical values needed in a heterogeneous society.

 Provisions of balanced educational programs that will enable a child develop mentally,
physically and spiritually.

 Acquaintance of children with educational skills for self reliance.

The school’s vision

Our new vision statement was rewritten at the start of 2017 with the help of staff, parents and
governors. It reflects our overarching aims, ethos and values and we plan to use it to chart our
journey for the next few years and to inspire further progress and developments.

At Bombo Trinity we take pride in developing outstanding teaching and learning by holding the
highest expectations of all our pupils and knowing the children well. We challenge all children to
strive for academic, creative, sporting and personal accomplishment within a broad, vibrant and
enriched curriculum.

Our students are given time to explore subjects and develop deep understanding. We celebrate
perseverance; resilience and risk taking, ensuring children welcome challenge and are not
frightened to make mistakes. We encourage children to take ownership of and responsibility for
their learning, so they have the confidence and curiosity to ask questions, solve problems and
respond to quality feedback. Children are praised for hard work, determination and having a
positive attitude.

In order to create an inclusive school where everyone can flourish, whatever their background,
we promote an ethos of respect and empathy, where diversity is valued and celebrated – both
within school and the wider world. Safeguarding and welfare is extremely important and pupils
are taught the virtues of kindness, appreciation and what it means to be courageous. Special care
is taken to educate everyone in the Bombo Trinity community about the needs of others and how
best to meet them. We foster open and honest communication with parents, carers and specialists
and actively seek to engage with all members of the Bombo Trinity community in a positive and
supportive manner.

High quality teaching is a key priority at Bombo Trinity Primary School and the relationship
between staff and children underpins inspirational, supportive and effective teaching and
learning. Staffs are actively involved in identifying their support and training needs and this leads
to careers with clear progression. We ensure that there is a wide range of quality training
available and that staffs are able to learn from each other and share good practice.

It is our aim for all children to leave Bombo Trinity as independent learners with self-belief and
an abiding respect for others. We aim to instill a lifelong love for learning and a strong grounding
for future success.

Core values for Bombo Trinity Primary School

Our core values were also re-written in March 2015 with the help of staff, parents and
governors. They demonstrate our overarching aims and how we hope to achieve them.

We promote achievement by:

 Holding the highest expectations for all

 Striving for every child to make the very best possible progress

 Being restless in our pursuit of excellence

We develop as confident and independent learners by:

 Providing learning which excites passion and curiosity

 Embracing challenge and not giving up

 Trying our best without fear of failure

 Speaking knowledgeably about our strengths and areas of improvement

We value supportive and positive relationships by:

 Bringing out the best in each other

 Showing pride in one another’s achievements

 Creating strong partnerships between home, school and the wider community

We appreciate others by:

 Valuing and respecting the rights of others

 Making sure everybody feels listened to

 Promoting good manners and caring attitudes

Rights Respecting School

Bombo Trinity Primary School is proud to be a Level 1 Rights Respecting School. What this
means in practice is that we are committed to placing the values and principles of the UN
Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of our ethos and culture to improve
well-being and to develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. The best
interests of the child are a top priority in all our considerations.

The result of such an approach is that children develop an awareness of global issues alongside
an improved sense of security and confidence, which allows them to take the next step in
advocating the rights of children everywhere through campaigning and raising awareness. A
Rights Respecting School is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practiced,
respected, protected and promoted. At Bombo Trinity, the rights of the child are integrated into
learning across the curriculum, so that children develop their understanding of how the notion of
rights has developed, why governments came together to agree on a set of rights, and how
children’s rights are respected and/or neglected across the world today. We also ensure children’s
participation in all aspects of school life by listening to children’s views and including them in
decision making; from organizing a charity day, to choosing new playground equipment or
reviewing a school policy.

Being a Rights Respecting School also shapes our behaviour management. At the beginning of each
school year, every class draws up a class charter which consists of a number of agreed rights and also sets
out how adults and children will respect these rights. Playground and toilet charters have also been

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AT BTPS

Co-curricular

We are great in Co-curricular activities as well this include: Volley Ball, Football and Netball.
We ensure pupils attain their personal best academically, whilst preparing them for life in a
rapidly changing global society. Modern facilities combined with traditional values based on our
religious roots draw out the talents of each student. Strong pastoral care, high quality teaching
and a great emphasis on extra-curricular activities make this a very special community in which
to live and learn.

OUTDOOR LEARNING AND TOURING:

The school respect the right for children not only to be confined to class rooms but to also enjoy
touring different places with an intention of learning like visiting National Parks, Forests, Lakes,
Religious and Historical sites, Museums, towns and cities plus meeting new people. This
refreshes the minds of the learners and improves on their level of thinking and gives them first
hand chance to understand the biodiversity of nature and life forms.
Early Years Foundation Stage (ECD
PROGRAM)
Children in Nursery follow the Early Childhood Education Learning Framework. This learning
challenges children and encourages them to develop into independent, motivated learners and
thinkers, full of curiosity about the world around them within a fun, happy and secure
environment.

Our Early Childhood Education curriculum is based on five areas of learning:

• Communication and Language development

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Physical Development
• Mathematical concepts
• Understanding of the World (Health Habits)
Children have opportunities to explore, enquire and to take risks through practical, hands-on
learning experiences. At Bombo Trinity Primary School, we have a high quality outside learning
environment which the children are able to use throughout the day.

GIRL CHILD EDUCATION PROGRAM

Education is one of the major keys to poverty alleviation. The longer girls stay in school means
they will delay pregnancy and will help slow population growth.

“We must end child marriage to keep girls in school and breaks cycles of poverty”.

Girls’ Education: A lifeline to development

Education is one of the most critical areas of empowerment for women, as both Bombo Trinity
Primary School affirmed. It is also an area that offers some of the clearest examples of
discrimination women suffer.

Among children not attending school there are twice as many girls as boys and among illiterate
adults there are twice as many women as men.

Offering girls basic education is one sure way of giving them much greater power of enabling
them to make genuine choices over the kinds of lives they wish to lead, this is not a luxury.

The convention on the rights of the child and the convention on the elimination of all forms of
discrimination against women establish it as a basic human right.

Women might have the chance of a healthier and happier life should be reason enough for
promoting girls’ education. However, there are also important benefits for society as a whole.

An educated woman has the skills, information and self – confidence that she needs to be a better
parent, worker and citizen.

An educated woman is, for example, likely to marry at a later age and have fewer children.
Cross – country studies show that an extra year of schooling for girls reduces fertility rates by 5
to 10 percent. And the children of an educated mother are more likely to survive. In Uganda, for
example, the infant mortality rate of babies whose mothers have received primary education is
half that of children whose mothers are illiterate.

An educated woman will also be more productive at work and better paid. Indeed, the dividend
for educational investment is often higher for women than men. Studies from a number of
countries suggest that an extra year of schooling will increase a woman’s future earnings by 15
percent, compared with 11 percent for a man.

Over recent decades there has certainly been significant progress in girls’ education. Between
1970nand 1992, combined primary and secondary enrolment for girls in developing countries
rose from 38 percent to 68 percent with particularly high rates in East Asia (83 percent) and
Latin America (87 percent). But there is still some way to go. In the least developed countries
enrolment rates are only 47 percent at the primary level and 12 percent at the secondary level.

Question: What would it take to improve girls’ access to education?

Experience in scores of countries shows the importance, among other things, of;

 Parental and community involvement, families and communities must be important

partners with schools in developing curriculum and managing children’s education.
 Low – cost and flexible timetables. Basic education should be free or cost very little,
where possible, there should be stipends and scholarships to compensate families for the
loss of girls’ household labour. Also, should hours be flexible so children can help at
home and still attend classes.
 Schools close to home, with women teachers. Many parents worry about girls travelling
long distances on their own. Many parents also prefer to have daughters taught by
women.
 Preparation for school, Girls do best when they receive early childhood care, which
enhances their self – esteem and prepares them for school.
 Relevant curricular – learning materials should be relevant to the girls’ background and
be in the local language. They should also avoid reproducing gender stereo types.

IMPORTANCE OF GIRLS’ EDUCATION

Introduction: There was a time when people thought that it was not necessary to educate girls.
Now we have begun to realize that girls’ education is essential. The modern age is the age of
awakening of girls. They are typing to compete with men in all spheres of life.

There are many people who oppose girls’ education. They say that the proper sphere of girls is
the home. So, they argue that the money spent on girls’ education is wasted. This view is wrong,
because girls’ education can bring about a silent resolution in the society.
Importance of Girls’ Education

There is several advantage of girls’ education.

Grown up educated girls can play an important role in the development of their country.

They can share the burden of men in the different walk of life. They can serve the society as
teachers, lawyers, doctors and administrators.

They can work at banks, hospitals, government offices and large business. They can play an
important role during war. Education is a boon to girls in this age of economic crisis. Gone are
the days of plenty and prosperity. Nowadays it is difficult for the people of the middle class to
make both ends meet. After marriage, educated girls can add to the income of their husbands. If a
woman is educated, she can earn a living after the death of her husband.

Girls’ education is necessary for making our homes happy places. Our home life would be
brightened if we had well – educated wives and mothers.

Educated girls can brighten the future of their country by the good upbringing of their children.

Education gives a woman freedom of thought. It broadens her outlook and makes her aware of
her duties and responsibilities.

Education empowers a grown up girl to become economically independent. They will be able to
stand up for their rights. Girls have all the rights to get educated.

Empowerment of girls and women is necessary to fight against the problem of gender –
inequality.

Education of rural girls is equally important. The rural girls are not getting ample opportunity for
education. Education of these girls would have positive impact on both economy and society.

Suggestions: Many people say that girls should not go in for degrees. They are wrong, because
girls have already proved their worth in all walks of life. There is no reason why girls should not
get the same kind of education as men. But they should not neglect their duties at home. So, girls
must have knowledge of domestic science and child psychology.

Conclusions: The progress of a country depends on girls’ education. So, girls’ education should
be encouraged.

In addition to this, children from Primary Three to upwards receive weekly Maths and Literacy
homework. Teachers provide homework that is linked to the class topic which can build on
learning already done in class.

UGANDA PRIMARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM PROVISION:

The school offers lessons to children as required by the Uganda's Ministry of Education and
Sports, normally there are 4 major subjects taught and examinable by the Uganda National
Examinations Board (UNEB). These subjects are Mathematics, English, Science and Social
Studies. Lessons like Physical Education, Design & Technology (Cape 3), Music and Art &
Design (Cape 2), Religious Education and Languages like Kiswahili and French are also
mandatory to all the classes.

Bombo Trinity Primary School follows the National Curriculum from Nursery, Year 1 to Year 7.
Our curriculum design is based firmly on the principles of good learning matched to the specific
needs of the children in our school. We have designed our curriculum framework to be rooted in
six big Questions which the whole school follows and explores over the year:
• Who am I? Who do I want to be?
• How can we share the Planet?
• How do we express ourselves?
• Why can't we all just get along?
• How does the World work?
• How does change affect us?
If you would like further information about our curriculum, please contact the school office.

English
English is made up of Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. Children come to school
with a wide range of skills and at different stages of development. English is taught in a daily
Literacy lesson where specific skills are taught and practiced as well as at other times of the day
in different subjects.

Speaking and Listening

Talk is a key part of our curricular experiences and we encourage children to use language and
communication in a purposeful and clear way, appropriate for different occasions and which
invites responsive listening. Talk partners are a part of all our lessons and children practice their
speaking and listening skills in lessons as well as through drama and role play. Children have
many opportunities to listen carefully to stories and discussion and to respond in different ways.
We foster an ability to respect and respond to the views of other children and adults in an
appropriate way.

Reading
Reading is a key skill and we want children to have a love of books as well as to become fluent
and life-long readers. We actively involved parents and carers to be involved in reading with
their children, both at home and at school through enjoying and sharing books together. We have
a wide range of quality resources and texts to support children’s reading. Reading is taught every
day through guided reading lessons in each class.

Phonics
We teach phonics using the Letters and Sounds scheme of work. Phonics teaching starts in
Nursery and continues until the children are secure in applying their skills to reading. Each day
the children are taught a different phonics skill, letter sound or blend and they take part in
different activities to practice and consolidate the sounds they have learnt.

Writing
From when children start school, we encourage them to have a go at writing and they learn,
through highly differentiated teaching, to be able to write using standard English. Spelling,
punctuation and Grammar are taught through writing and children learn to write for a range of
different purposes.

Mathematics
We teach children to be confident in the use of mathematics in a meaningful way. Children are
taught number, measurement and statistics through a daily Maths lesson. They are also taught
how to use and apply mathematics in everyday life contexts and how to tackle mathematical
problems.

Science
Science is linked to our topics and children learn scientific skills and content in a meaningful and
cross curricular way. They will have opportunities to gain knowledge and understanding through
first hand experiences, as well as using books, charts and pictures and web-based resources to
support their learning. They are encouraged to design and carry out their own investigations as
well as communicate what they have found out to others in a variety of different ways.

Social Studies (SST)

Children learn about their own environment and other areas in different ways. They learn to
follow directions, map read and make their own maps as well as explore the weather and carry
out surveys and collect and present data. Children also learn economic factors about the
environment including the use of land and the effect of their actions on the world around them
and the climate.
In addition; Children also have the opportunity to develop an awareness of the past, an
understanding of how and why things change and how events shape the present and future in
African History. They use a range of historical resources including artefacts, books, pictures and
photographs. Children are encouraged to ask questions about the past and to discover more about
their lives and surroundings as well as learning about what it means to be African.

Computing
We teach children to use computing following the new scheme of work which includes
programming and algorithms. We have an IT suite where children can learn new skills and they
are supported by our full time IT technician. We also have laptops and tablets which the children
are able to use in class to support learning across the curriculum

EXPRESSIVE ARTS

Music, Dance & Drama Section:

The school labors a lot in exposing the children to love music, to dance and participate in
singing, create plays and poems and make presentations to fellow students. The world as it
stands, the Music industry employs lots of people, some have earned reputations as celebrities
who have transformed lives and made this world a better place.
The school intends to have a strong music, dance and drama group that will help much in tapping
out talents of the learners and expose them to local and international standards through the
school close collaborations with the outside international friendship networks as planned.

Art and Design

Children have opportunities to build on their understanding and appreciation of art in a variety of
forms and style and from a variety of cultures through a cross curricular topic approach. They
learn to use different art techniques and develop an awareness of shape, colour, texture and
pattern as well as understand the properties of materials. Throughout their time at school pupils
will visit a number of art galleries and work with artists in residence using a range of media.
Physical Education (PE)
This covers gymnastics, dance, game skills and athletics in a progressive rolling programme year
on year. All children have three PE sessions per week. We pray after getting Swimming pool, our
children shall have weekly swimming lessons throughout the school year

Religious Education (RE)

Our scheme of work for Religious Education is based on the Ministry of Education agreed
syllabus, which covers the world’s major religions. At Bombo Trinity Primary School we value
the diversity and wide variety of religious backgrounds represented by our staff and pupils. We
reflect these traditions in our teaching and seek to promote high levels of understanding and
tolerance.

Arts & Crafts Provision:

The school provides Arts and Crafts lessons to learners such that they are exposed to creativity to make
things like ropes, mats, beads, pots, portraits, drawings, objects from available raw materials or wastes
or trashes which can be of use to human nature. The skills attained helps the learner to stand better
chances to employ themselves and earn a living through full time employment or doing the work part
time.
Those who don't excel with school academic work are encouraged to concentrate a lot on attaining the
basic skills in arts and crafts.

Games And Sports Section:

The school avails a wide selection of sports and games activities to the children. Main games at the
school are foot ball, net ball, rope skipping. More games are to be introduced soon and plans are under
way avail to the children especially those in the nursery section a playing room for them at times when
they are not engaged in active learning.

Special Educational Needs

At Bombo Trinity Primary School we are committed to ensure that every child achieves the best
possible outcomes regardless of their ethnicity, gender, cultural background or learning need.

Our practices and procedures are embedded into school life to ensure pupils’ special educational
needs are identified swiftly. We consider each of the pupils when planning and provide a
curriculum which is accessible to all, whatever their individual needs. We acknowledge that
some pupils require additional support to ensure access to a full curriculum and, where
appropriate, a range of support strategies, including personalized curriculums, are implemented.

If additional specialist advice and support is necessary, we seek external agency support such as
speech and language therapists, school nurse and educational psychologists. We are committed to
effective collaboration between all agencies working with a child and a multi-disciplinary
approach to meeting pupils’ special educational needs. All staff at Bombo Trinity Primary School
are provided with training, coaching and support to develop and refine good practice when
working with SEND pupils.
If you wish to talk to us about your child’s needs or the provision in place, please speak to your
child’s class teacher or School Headteacher

Questions (FAQs) and annual report and see how Bombo Trinity Primary School

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
1) What should I do if I think my child has a Special Educational Need or Disability?

If you are worried that your child may have a Special Educational Need, the first person to talk
to is your child’s Class Teacher. Your child’s teacher will listen to your concerns and discuss it,
and how, these might be presented in school as well. The Class Teacher will then discuss your
concerns with our Headteacher, who may also ask to meet with you. From this point, together,
we will come up with a plan of how best to support your child.

 If we have any concerns about your child, we will also contact you. This may be because of
concerns we have about their academic progress or concerns about their ability to:-

 Socialize and interact age-appropriately

 cope / behave age-appropriately

 keep themselves safe age-appropriately

 organize themselves age-appropriately and work with a degree of independence

 make and keep friends

We will also contact you if there are any changes in their well-being or general demeanor.

As part of our Special Needs Policy, we would designate a child as having special needs
following a period of concern and a number of different tasks being carried out. The child would
not be judged solely on the results of tests or on the number of months they are behind the age-
related standard, but following discussions with you, the Class Teacher and the deployment of
appropriate intervention and/or external Specialists, if necessary.

2) What kinds of need are provided for?

At Bombo Trinity we use our best endeavours to meet all kinds of needs; it may be that your
child just needs some extra support to achieve their potential, but it could be that your child has
some additional emotional, behavioural or social interaction/communication needs.

We also provide for children who, as part of an Education Health and Care Plan, may have a
dedicated adult assigned to them during the school day. In the academic year, 2017 – 2018 three
children with Education Health and Care Plans were provided for and two further applications
for an Education Health and Care Plan were successful.

3) What is our school’s ethos/approach to SEN and Disability?

Our main ethos around SEND is that all teachers are the teachers of all children. This means that
we believe every member of staff in school has a responsibility for our SEND children.
Bombo Trinity is committed to removing any barrier to learning or participation that can hinder
or exclude individual children or groups of children.

All children with or without Special Educational Needs receive equality of entitlement to all
activities, whether curricular or extra-curricular. Wherever necessary, special provision is put in
place to ensure that this is met. This may be by providing a simpler activity but could be in the
form of:-

 additional adult support

 use of visual timetables to provide routine and structure

 individualised timetables working on personal targets

 smaller group teaching

 simplified language

 broken down tasks

 additional intervention sessions which concentrate specifically on the area of need and could be
delivered as 1:1 or in small groups

 support from Specialist services

 specialist equipment

 speech and language therapy and associated programmes

 well-being therapy

The purpose of our school offer

We want to inform parents and carers about all aspects of SEN/D. All schools are required to
make this information readily available and it is often referred to as the ‘Local Offer’. The
purpose of our school’s local offer is to inform parents and carers about:

 how we welcome into our school children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
(SEN/D)

 how we support them in all aspects of school life and remove barriers to achievement

 how we work in close partnership with parents/carers and children

 how we make effective provision for all of our children with SEN/D
We will keep our school offer under review –by asking parents and children what is working well
and what they want to improve.

4) How will I know how well my child is doing in school?

There are many opportunities for our parents to get involved in school life and to stay informed
about how their child is doing in school.

Each term we hold Parent Evenings where you get the chance to meet one to one with your
child’s Class Teacher. At the end of each term (after our end of term assessments) you will
receive a short written report informing you of the standard your child is currently working at
compared to National Expectations. You will also get a more detailed written report at the end of
the school year.

Whenever there is a need to refer your child to a Specialist agency, our SENCO will meet with
you to complete an Early Help Assessment. This enables the Specialist agency to concentrate on
your child’s main area of need and will involve creating an action plan which will then be
reviewed with you at least every eight-ten weeks at Early Help Review Meetings.

In addition to this, there are many chances throughout the school year where parents are invited
into the school and can talk to us; for example after a school performance, special assembly or at
one of our special themed days.

Finally, we operate an ‘open door’ policy; all our Class Teachers and members of the Leadership
Team are always available to discuss any issues or worries you might have. If you would like to
speak to our SENCO (Mr. Muhindo David) you can arrange this through your child’s Class
Teacher or by asking for an appointment at the School Office. It is really important to us that any
concerns or worries you have are addressed quickly so please don’t hesitate to contact us.

5) What support will there be for my child’s overall well-being?

The Well-Being and Inclusion of children are extremely important to us and as a result, one of
our Assistant Head Teachers, Mr. Muhindo David, is a Lead Practitioner for Well-Being and
Inclusion. This means he has dedicated responsibility for the well-being and inclusion of all
pupils. His role involves supporting children particularly those with SEND by monitoring
provision, speaking with parents, children, Class Teachers and Specialists and then scheduling an
appropriate intervention, specialist support or funding as deemed appropriate.

We also have a full-time Well-Being Mentor whose main role is in supporting the emotional
development and welfare of our children. This may be to help a new child settle in or to support
a vulnerable child during a difficult period and may be used to build self-confidence and esteem,
develop self-awareness, helping your child to manage their feelings whilst improving motivation,
empathy and social skills.
In Early Years each child is assigned a Key Worker who supports each of our youngest children.
They work alongside the children as they settle into the routines of school life but they are also
well equipped to identify additional needs at the earliest stage possible.

If your Early Years child is deemed in need of significant 1:1 support, an application can be
made to the Local Authority for Early Years Inclusion Funding / Support.

Our well-structured curriculum (which is taught intrinsically throughout our whole curriculum
and wider school life), also enables children to develop self-awareness, learn about managing
their feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills. This helps all children develop as
individuals in our wider society.

Our residential experiences, trips and special visitors to school also provide opportunities for
children to plan, work together and develop and maintain relationships in different settings and
contexts.

6) How will I be involved in discussions about, planning for, and involvement in, my child’s
education?

At Bombo Trinity, we believe that partnership with parents is key in enabling all children to
achieve the very best that they possibly can. We treat all parents as partners and you are
encouraged to play an active and valued role in your child’s education. We recognise that parents
hold vital information and have knowledge and experience that will contribute greatly to the
shared view of your child’s individual needs and the best ways of supporting them. Parents will
be informed if their child is in need of SEND support and will be invited to the school.

There will also be Early Help Review meetings held every eight – ten weeks when any Specialist
agency is involved.

Where a child has an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), Annual Reviews will also be
carried out to which parents are encouraged to attend and at which their views are welcomed and
encouraged.

7) How do Bombo Trinity involve children and young people in their education and in the decision
making process?

It is really important to us to make sure that our children feel listened to and valued at school. We
have an active School Council and Pupil Forum who are often consulted about school issues. We
also have a rigorous Quality Assurance Programme where children’s thoughts and opinions are
regularly canvassed through Pupil Voice questionnaires and Pupil Conference interviews.

In addition, children are encouraged to be involved in their Early Help Review meetings or
EHCP Annual Review meetings (where appropriate).
8) How will my child be supported in moving between phases of their education?

Our SENCO meets with the Early Years Leader and Key Stage Leaders to discuss children who
may find moving between phases of education more challenging. Specific transition activities
will be planned if deemed appropriate.

9) Who, outside of school, can I turn to for advice and support?

The school works with many external agencies to seek advice and support to ensure the needs of
all children are fully understood and met. These include:-

 Local Authority

 Health Visiting Service

 School Nursing Team

 Early Intervention Team

 Educational Psychologist

 Behaviour Support Service

 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

 Speech and Language Service

 Children’s Social Care

 Community Paediatrician

 Cluster and School SENCOs

10) How skilled are the staff at Bombo Trinity Primary School in meeting the needs of my child?

An ongoing programme of professional training is in place to ensure that the SENCO, Class
Teachers and Support Staff all have the appropriate skills and knowledge in areas that will
improve their teaching and support of all children. Recent training includes:-

 Safeguarding

 First Aid

 Epilepsy Management

 Diabetic training
 Moving & handling

 Signing

 Autistic Spectrum Awareness

 Dyslexia Awareness

 Our SENCO actively engages with other local schools and agencies to share best practice and
keep abreast of local and national initiatives/policies to support children with SEND.

11) How is the provision for children with SEND evaluated?

Pupil Progress meetings are held termly with Class Teachers to review the outcomes of all
children including those with SEND. As part of a rigorous Quality Assurance Programme, the
school also canvasses children’s thoughts and opinions through Pupil Voice questionnaires and
Pupil Conference interviews. Lessons are observed regularly and learning walks are carried out
to monitor the provision for SEND children in their classroom settings. The Early Help Review
meetings also assess and evaluate the success of any Specialist’s involvement and then address
the next steps.

12) Who, outside of school, can I turn to for advice and support?

At school, we are always happy to help and listen but sometimes you may want impartial advice
from outside of school. This might be about services available in our Local Authority, about the
transition to school or any other issues or concerns that you may have.

13) Where can I find information about Local Authority provision for children and young people
with SEN?

Bombo Town Council has published their Local Offer. This details all the services available
within the area to support a family or child with SEND. This includes health, social and care
information as well as education and is a great place to go for information.

14) How should complaints regarding SEND provision be made and how will they be dealt with?

The school’s complaints procedure is outlined in our Complaints Policy which is on our website.
The SEND Code of Practice outlines additional measures the Local Authority must set up for
preventing and resolving disagreements. These will be explained to parents if required and are
available through the Local Offer set out by the Local Authority. However if there are any issues
arising around your child’s education please feel free to contact school via your child’s Class
Teacher or the SENCO so that we can try to deal with any issue as quickly as possible.
15) How do I obtain a copy of the school’s SEND Policy?

A hard copy of the school SEND policy is always available from the School Office. It is also
published on the school website.

16) Who to contact for more information?

If you have any SEND queries or concerns, or are interested in more information about the
SEND Policy and/or SEND Information report, please reach out to our Assistant Headteacher for
Inclusion, Muhindo David. Muhindo is Bombo Trinity’s Special Educational Needs and
Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and has overall whole school responsibility for SEND and
inclusion. He leads on the day to day operation of our SEND procedures following guidance in
the SEN Code of Practice.

At Bombo Trinity Primary School, the Senior Leadership Team work alongside class teachers to
ensure all children have access to outstanding teaching and learning by holding the highest
expectations of all our pupils and knowing the children well. We believe that the education we
provide needs to enable children to achieve their best, become confident individuals living
fulfilling lives, and make a successful transition to secondary school. We foster open and honest
communication with parents and carers, so if at any time you have concerns about your child
please contact either your child’s class teacher or phase leader.

Primary School
At Bombo Trinity Primary School, we believe extra-curricular activities play a very important
part of the school day. We therefore offer a variety of clubs for our children to join and enjoy
both before and after school. In addition, many of our children also learn a musical instrument.

Once the children have joined a club they are expected to attend regularly. If they wish to leave a
club, then a written note from a parent/carer must be handed to the teacher in charge.

Some of the clubs only run at certain times of the year. Please see the teacher in charge for more

How you can help us:

We need your support so that we may remain of service to the children. Bombo Trinity Primary School
values the ability of individuals, small companies, as well as corporate sponsors in making a difference.
The children currently have small classes to gather in and use of larger premises (Storage Classrooms)
inclusive of an office where staff can work and meet as well as a small kitchen, Administration Block will
be appreciated.

Our further needs include:

• The payment of school fees.

• Making available bursaries for the children to further their studies.
• Provision of school uniforms and stationery.
• Desks and computers for among others computer literacy classes.
• Clothing, blankets, and shoes.
• Toys for play.
• Food parcels for meals at the center, and for the children on the streets, and for some kids to be able
to take home.
• Chairs, printers and office stationary for the staff.
• A stove, cabinets, and refrigerator for storage and the cooking of meals at the center.
• A vehicle for supplying meals, and other necessities for the street children, picking up of donations and
attendance of meetings.

The approach:

• Individuals and companies alike can choose whether they would prefer to be a sponsor on a once-off
basis or on a regular basis.
• You may ‘adopt’ a given child/ youth through our “Sponsor a Child Project” (set out in more detail
below) and choose to cover the costs of the schooling of only that child or a number of children.

At Bombo Trinity Primary School we treasure individual donors, as well as family donors, companies, and
corporations. No donation is too small! Thank you in advance for touching these precious souls through
your donation.

The following school fees structure has been approved and agreed by the school management to be
paid in order to help us run and program for the school effectively;

a) Nursery Section: 280,000/= £56 per term

b) Primary Section: 400,000/= £64 per term

We look forward to receiving you and promise to offer the best and quality education to our children.
Once again, Bombo Trinity Primary School thanks you our dear parents for trusting us with your child.
God bless you!

DONATE
In our pursuit of a bright future for Ugandan children from marginalized communities,
accessibility to quality education remains a huge challenge. Research shows that children
without access to education are the most vulnerable. We are committed to changing the situation
by providing quality education to Ugandan children.

However, since many of our children come to school hungry and without the requirements they
need, from backpacks to the supplies inside them: pencils, crayons, rulers, and more. The school
administration does it's best to help these children but our resources are very limited. Therefore,
we call upon parents and well-wishers to support us.

If you have any financial assistance or physical supplies you’d like to donate, the best way to do
this is by contacting us directly and arrange to make a payment or deliver the items. Not only
does this make things easier for the school, but it’s a great way to meet and connect with the staff
and students you’re helping.

Please consider becoming a Bombo Trinity Primary School sponsor by setting up a monthly or
yearly contribution of your choice!

COMMITMENT TO OUR SPONSORS

We do not sell, share or trade our sponsors’ names or personal information with any other entity,
nor send messages to our sponsors on behalf of other organizations.

 COMPUTER LESSONS BEGINS AT BOMBO TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

 In an effort to expose the children to the information era, BTPS has begun conducting computer
lessons to its children who are in upper primary that’s P.4, P.5, P.6 and P.7. The lessons are aimed
to equip the children with introductory information on the computer, its uses, typing skills,
creating documents, the use of the internet plus the all relevant resources on internet.
 The lessons are being conducted by a community volunteer at the school called Wasajja David
who is already with us for 3months that is up to the close of this first term 2019.
 The volunteer came in with one laptop computer as his personal donation to the computer class.
We still require more computers such that at least 3children can use a computer in a classroom
as an average we are budgeting for close to 30 children in a normal classroom. The computer
room still lacks seats, tables and the school management committee is looking for ways of
ensuring it’s fully furnished.
 Computer lessons kicked off on 4th February, 2019 and David has shown impressed a good
impression by conducing these lessons in a professional way. The computer lessons have been
placed on school timetable and both the teachers and the children are undergoing times of
study and I am optimistic, computer education at the school will make both the teachers and the
students attain basic skills in computer use.
 Plans are undergoing to also have these computers gets a wireless internet connection such that
in the course of study the children can be able to explore the world further, be in position to
connect to different people especially connecting classroom through e-learning, chatting online
and accessing online educational resources.
 For any computer donations to the school, contact the school project Director Mr. Buyinza James

PUBLIC NOTICE

The child sponsorship scheme is a project initiated in the early years when we opened our school
and over the years scores of children have attained assistance as in fees payment by generous
child sponsors worldwide.

Most of the sponsors are individuals who have a strong love and passion for helping out our
children from needy or vulnerable homes, others are orphans while some are just from
polygamous homes.

Some of the beneficiaries have not only got tuition paid but also getting new uniforms, pens and
pencils, shoes or even clothes. Some lucky ones have got assorted gift items while some families
of children have received start up loans, gifts or even food from generous donors.

This coming year 2019, we made a slight change on the tuition fees for day scholars and those on
full board. The rates are as below:

CHILD SPONSORSHIP FEES FOR 2019

 Nursery/Primary School Day scholar Annual tuition 130 $US

 Nursery/Primary School Full Board Annual tuition 260 $US

PAYMENT OR RENEWALS
 Direct through our bank account in Wobulenzi, ask for details from us, they are available on

SCHOOL NEWS CONTENT

Its yet a new year 2019 which actually is our eighteenth year as we serve in teaching Ugandan
children.

We have been waiting for results of Primary seven candidates who sat their final exams in
November last year. We had a total of 34 pupils in the class and i am happy to report that all of
them have qualified to join secondary school education. The outcomes were as below:

 29 passed in Division One, 4 in Division Two.

On a special note, I thank all the generous supporters and well wishers plus the parents for
supporting the school. I also salute my teaching staff for the dedicated work they have rendered
inspite of the challenges we continue to face.

The generous supporters who help sponsor some of our children also deserve some thanks. The
financial resources which come into the school have helped me immensely to aid me in proper
running of the school projects.

A point should be noted that our schools is strategically placed in areas with people with low
income, highly impoverished and with record traces of orphans where most of their parents could
have succumbed to the deadly HIV/AIDS and diseased because of poor nutrition and living
conditions.
I encourage those sponsoring to continue doing so such that these children continue to benefiting
from our service. We also have several children on our sponsorship scheme.
Sponsoring a child transforms lives, it creates a balanced world where the less fortunate can also
get chance to be in school and compete with the privileged. For DAY SCHOOLING annual fee
is at 130$ US and £91 UK while FULL BOARD is at 260$ US and £182 UK.

This year, we hope to strengthen on what we already have as in boosting up income generating
activities for the school.

 Mobilizing for more pupils to enroll in our schools.

 Lobbying for grant funds to construct storage classroom block

 Add more furniture and equip our computer room.

with a vision of promoting quality education and girl child education to favour Bombo Trinity
Primary School to construct permanent storage classroom structure on the school’s acquired
permanent home which was successfully purchased.

Education is fundamental to helping break the generational cycle of poverty. A local construction
firm is ready to do the job and the local community of Bombo, Nkokonjeruzone where the
schoolis situated have agreed to offer any form of supplementary labour force to have the school
built up.

The buildings to be constructed include.

 The nursery section which has three classrooms with three rest rooms.
 The primary section which has seven classrooms.
 Toilets and washrooms.
Other buildings to be put up in future include
 Administration block to house the School Director’s, Head Teacher’s, Bursar’s offices, Staff
and store rooms.
 Staff quarters
 Dormitories for boys and girls
 Computer laboratory
 Library
 School canteen
 Playground ad outdoor children playing materials.

BRIEF HISTORY OF BOMBO TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

The school started in 2001 and opened its doors on 2ndFebruary, 2001 with 16pupils and has
gradually from class to class up to full primary level. It is fully licensed by the ministry of
education and sports by license number ME/P/5 300 and also registered by the same authority
with registration number PPS/B/149. It is founded by two experienced teachers engaged in a
number of developmental activities in the field of education, environment, human rights
awareness and sustainable Agriculture.
The idea to setting up such an institution was first initiated by Mr. Buyinza James with a vision
to have a series of developmental projects to help ease people’s lives all done especially young
girls because the longer girls stay in school means they will delay pregnancy and will help slow
population growth hence poverty alleviation and in the name of promoting Girl Child Education,
secular views and ideas to solving the problems failing the people of Luwero area and central
Uganda in general.

PROJECT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. Ensuring all the necessary building structures for the school are constructed on the school
permanent home.
2. Landscaping the Bombo Trinity Primary School property by demarcating it in parts to serve
as school buildings, playgrounds and farmland areas.
3. Connecting water and electricity to the school buildings and entire property.
4. Fencing of the area with a hedge for the safety of the school properties.
5. Constructing a visitor’s home at the school to accommodate future volunteers, child sponsors
and any other very important person visitors to the school.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Bombo Trinity Primary School all a long since it opened its doors is still housed in small
classrooms and some classes contacting lessons in temporally building for example Primary One
and when it is rainy season it inconveniences school activities of providing education to the
young generation.

The management Bombo Trinity Primary School has been all along trying here and there in the
search of funds to build at least three storage flat but in vain due to inadequate funds though they
tried to put the foundations and two classrooms are complete. It has been reserving some funds
from little school fees from parents and well-wishers like politicians and religious leaders.

As the idea of putting up a permanent storage flat structure for the school requires huge sums of
money to accomplish, construction works will be done in phases and its likely to take more years
to have the permanent home fully finished but in general it requires massive fundraising
campaigns by all parties locally and internationally with that in our mind, we call upon for any in
kind organisation, individuals and institution with generous heart to lend a hand in the project.

Your generous gift of any amount will give someone hope living on less than $1. The chance to
further education for his/her children and break the cycle of poverty and reduction of school
dropouts especially young girls who are main victim of the vice.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION
There is a need for Bombo Trinity Primary School to construct a permanent storage flat for its
stability and proper service delivery.

As the school is setup on firm foundation and advocating for girl child education and humanist
values and ethics, having a permanent storage flat will help the school to strengthen its activities
by organizing camps, workshops on its permanent site. This means the school will now have
better classrooms, library and computer rooms, no more worries about staff accommodation or
house rent.

It will also raise its status in the area of quality education and culture. This will prove to the
Uganda government that were committed to supplementary government effort to educate
Ugandans in an effort to fight poverty, ignorance and disease.

School Mission Statement:

To provide learners with quality education that will develop their morals socially acceptable,
academically sound and physically fit citizens.

School Vision Statement:

We strive to develop children who are morally upright, with a free mind and intellectual
capability.

School Motto:
Seek knowledge and serve

SCHOOL OBJECTIVES
i. Ensure the development of mature and responsible citizens with full sense of social
awareness, moral and ethical values needed in a heterogeneous society.
ii. Provisions of a balanced educational programme that will enable a child develop
mentally, physically and spiritually.
iii. Acquaintance of children with educational skills for self-reliance.

SCHOOL CURRICULUM
The school teaches in accordance with the Uganda primary schools curriculum by the ministry of
education and sports, in addition language like Kiswahili and computer lessons are also taught at
the school.
CONSTRUCTION WORKS AND FUNDRAISING FRAMEWORK
As Bombo Trinity Primary School is run by two experienced teachers who entirely rely on
school fees and in-kind donations from community members. We currently operate on a tight
budget with limited funds and we entirely rely on parents and well-wishers especially politicians.

The school management committee proposed that construction of buildings on the property be
done in phases with effect from February 2019 and that a massive fundraising campaign begin
with immediate effect to allow well-wishers, friends and parents of Bombo Trinity to solist for
funds to help the school develop the permanent storage flat home.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
The school management has the full potential to deliver in ensuring the donor funds towards the
construction of the school will directly go to where it’s supposed to go by building a permanent
storage home for the school.
The school project director who at the same time is the school founder, Mr. Buyinza James will
remain the contact person in spearheading the construction exercises, the school entrusted him,
and he will handle it smoothly.

The school management committee in conjunction with the school Parents’ Teachers Association
will work hand in hand to ensure the construction exercise goes on smoothly.
The local area district education officer plus the local authorities will also be helpful in guiding
us here and there so that whatever we do onsite is in accordance with the rules and regulations in
regard to building structures fit for our learners.

A. Executive summary:
Our problem: The School Bombo Trinity Primary is now 17years old but it has no bigger means
of transport. We need a means of transport of 40 people sitter for the functions and activities that
are carried within and outside the School.

The school started in 2001 and opened its doors on 2nd February, 2001 with 16pupils and has
gradually from class to class up to full primary level. It is fully licenced by the ministry of
education and sportsby licence number ME/P/5 300 and also registered by the same authority
with registration number PPS/B/149.
The school Bombo Trinity was created in 2001 since then we encounter problems in transporting
pupils and teachers for educational trips and teacher’s picnics to explore the environment for
social development.

The car (Min-Bus) shall be owned by the school serving all school departments, the community
around the school and other institutions. For the last 17years the school still lacks a bigger means
of communication

The car will therefore serve, above all the academic department regards of academic excellence.

The car (Min-Bus) shall be of help in organizing the annual international Teacher’s day
celebrations in the district and also arrange for social environmental, educational tours,
workshops, attending regional and national meetings pertaining education. Transport people from
place to place either for funeral services (burials) or on social activities like wedding, graduation,
introduction parties hence earning income to the school for its sustainability. And it shall be used
to carry out video coverage for school functions.

The head teacher’s office in conjunction with Academic department has established a public
address system (Audian sounds) to be used for school functions and for hiring. The car (Min-
Bus)shall be of a great importance to transport the equipment to the destined places while at the
same time carrying people.

Beneficiaries: The beneficiary of the project is the entire school. The car shall be useful to the
entire school: pupils, religious, community groups. Schools, Institutions and school parents
groups

From the above it is clear that Bombo Trinity Primary School is the beneficiary. Under the
school it is the Academic department that is the direct beneficiary. The Academic department has
got responsibilities: It runs staff team which has 20teachers and five permanent support staff in
the academic office. The school shall be one of the main beneficiary

The school now has more than 40 sister schools and the car shall help in transportation of the
teachers as a group to functions, like anniversaries, graduations, meetings, funerals and travelling
outside the district as a group for academic social interaction.

Bombo Trinity primary school is surrounded by many schools and the car shall be hired by the
institutions as they go for different activities, like excursions, weddings, funerals, anniversaries,
etc.

The car shall help the school management to advertise the school by visiting parents outside
Luwero district because the school has children from different districts like Nakaseke,
Nakasongola, Wakiso, Kampala, Mityana, Mukono, Gulu, Lira etc.It is one of our activities to
visitthese places to know the mind of our parents.

B. Historic Background, Bombo Trinity Primary School:

Bombo Trinity Primary Schoolis found in Central Uganda in Luwero district impacted
greatly by political conflict, insurgences, HIV/AIDs, disease extreme poverty and other
detriments in the Buganda region in Central Uganda.Bombo Trinity Primary school sits on an
area of 2sq. km, with a population of about 320pupils. The population is on high increase and at
the moment the figures may be more than that. The school has 20teaching staff who works
tirelessly tohelp plight children to achieve their dreams. There is an average of 10 to 20puipls
joining the school on termly basis a very year.

Apart from education, the school has excelled in other areas like health and social development.

There are also many schools around the town and always they hire cars from far as they attend
different functions and excursions. We believe these institutions shall be hiring our school min-
bus.

This is the general background of the school on a tremendous growth with hope for the bright
future. It is a duty of the head teacher through academic department to promote academic
excellence to the young generation. Therefore the school needs a means of transport to be able
toadvertise well within and outside the school.

C. The Car Project and its Importance:

 The car shall serve the entire school and the community around.
 The car is of much importance to the school, commissions of the school and the
community around the school.
 The car shall very much be means of transport for the teachingand non-teachingstaff.
 The car shall itself advertise the school to have wider supporter ship.
 The car shall be a source of income for the Academic department, for the staff and the
school as a whole.
 The car shall be the major means of transport for school personnel to attend different
functions as a group within and outside the school for-example taking children for
education trips.
 At times the car shall help in transportation of the staff for study trips and at the same
time carrying people.
 For sometimes the car shall be used for mobile broadcast.

D. The Cost of the car

Local Contribution: 5,000 Dollars
Amount requested 28,500 Dollars
Total: 33,500 Dollars

Conclusion: The means of transport shall help the academic department to fulfill the duty of
enhancing education to the young generations through effective and efficient learning as it is
recommended in accordance by the Uganda school curriculum. “The head of the department and
the entire staff of Bombo trinity shall ensure that the examinations both internal and external are
done appropriately to the standards to help learners reasoning capacity. Therefore the means of
transport is very vital for the school departments to be effective. More so it is important for the
department and the school that is growing. The 40 people sitter Min-Bus is a real necessity for
the school and the community around.

We thank you very much for your assistance.

Yours Sincerely,
……………………….

B. Executive Summary

Our Problem:
The school Bombo Trinity which was created in 2001 and Technical department is one of the 8
departments of the School.

The School started a Boarding section five years back under the supervision of the
academiccommand of the school. The Boarding section needs an automatic generator due to on
and off of the electricity.

The Academic department on addition to the Boarding section runs night studies to the learners
in the boarding. We reside 100pupils who need attention of electricity.

Our target groups are school pupils occupants. Therefore the department began a boarding
section in 2013. This Section is now a major tool for academic evolvement especially for
primary seven candidates.

Mission statement of the school:

To provide learners with quality education that will develop their morals socially acceptable,
academically sound and physically fit citizens.
School Objectives:

iv. Ensure the development of mature and responsible citizens with full sense of social
awareness, moral and ethical values needed in a heterogeneous society.
v. Provisions of a balanced educational program that will enable a child develop mentally,
physically and spiritually.
vi. Acquaintance of children with educational skills for self-reliance.

School fame:

The school is reputed in good parts of central Uganda. The school canacceptchildrens from
districts of Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Kiboga, Wakiso, Kampala, Kayunga, Mbarara,
Mubende, Sembabule, Mityana, Rukungiri, Kanungu, Kisoro, Ntoroko, Kiruhura, Ibanda,
Kamwenge, Bundibugyo, Gulu and Masaka and parts of South Sudan.
Languages:

We teach children in English (60%) and Luganda, Kiswahili take 40% as instructed by the
Ministry of Education and sports in Uganda under National Curriculum Development Center
(NCDC).

To keep the sectionauspicious to the learners has been the challenge that is why we need an
automatic generator to avoid dead night studies when locally supplied electricity is off.

Project Implementation

The generator shall be owned by the Bombo Trinity primary school and managed by the
technical department.

We shall make sure that the automatic generator shall help the school to very well cover
academician events so as to become a reliable school appropriate to the learners in the district
and Uganda at large.
Beneficiaries:

The school, Bombo Trinity Primary is the Beneficiary. The main targets are the pupils in the
boarding section from different district of Central, Northern, Eastern and Western regions of
Uganda.

We can therefore say the Academic department is the direct beneficiary. The Academic and
Technical departments have got many responsibilities. It runs the night studies to the pupils in
the boarding section and public address system respectively which has 20 teachers s and two
permanent workers in the technical department responsible for public address system..

C. Historical Background of the School Bombo Trinity.

Bombo Trinity Primary School is found in Central Uganda in Luwero district impacted
greatly by political conflict, insurgences, HIV/AIDs, disease extreme poverty and other
detriments in the Buganda region in Central Uganda. Bombo Trinity Primary school sits on an
area of 2sq. km, with a population of about 320pupils. The population is on high increase and at
the moment the figures may be more than that. The school has 20teaching staff who works
tirelessly to help plight children to achieve their dreams. There is an average of 10 to 20puipls
joining the school on termly basis a very year.

Apart from education, the school has excelled in other areas like health and social development.

This is the general background of the school on a tremendous growth with hope for the bright
future. It is noble duty of the head teacher through academic department to promote academic
excellence to the young generation. Therefore the dead night revisions at the school due to lack
of an automatic generator is a big challenge to promote the school activities particularly at
night.Acquiring an automatic generator is a necessity and very urgent.

Bombo Trinity Boarding Section:The school boarding section was put as a strategy to cater for
the distant pupil who sought to acquire quality education from our school. Bombo Trinity
primary is fully licensed and registered by the Ministry of Education and Sports on reference
numbers ME/P/5 300 and PPS/B/149respectively.

Bombo Trinity Primary School was launched 2013. One of the most challenging issue to the
school is to teach night lessons for pupils in the boarding section since they reside at school. The
school management realized that we need a boarding section to skyrocket academic standards to
both the learners and teachers as a whole.

The school is promoting quality education, Girl Child Education, Christian and Human Values
prudently and with a lot of confidence and excellence.
As some of these initiatives are still dreams but the school has made it a reality by owning a
boarding section fully equipped with furniture and shelterssuitable for the learners. It is on this
background that we urgently need an automatic generator.

D. The Generator project and its importance

The elementary school in the modern world of education has to teach to guard the early teenage
pregnancies say early motherhood and fatherhood and decaying morality majorly young girls
being the victim of the vice. The schools in Luwero needs to become more competent in dealing
with academic of the learners especially using the boarding section as the present major way of
helping distant students in different districts of Uganda and South Sudan say Refugees’ and
soldiers’ children. Uganda now has over 4,000 primary schools within 31 years of National
Resistance Movement Government under the leadership of H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. From
these the Government under its program UPE (Universal Primary Education) 0wn 1,056schools

The school through academic department is defending the truth in the permissive society about
basic education as a major basic need to human kind.

The church through academic department is forming the conscience of the children by providing
alternative programs for instance instilling reading culture into learners. Ethical dimension of
education is a tool for Bombo Trinity Primary schoolin Luwero District.

Through the boarding section, the school is protecting reading culture and witnessing to morals
to become an effective educational institution in the country.

The purchase or securing of the generator shall keep the school childrenparticularly the boarders
steadily growing. At the moment school boarding section is very much liked of its consistent and
content teaching programs, the challenge is always dead night lessons when power goes off and
this is very common in Bombo and Uganda in general.

The securing of the automatic generator shall steadily keep the school teach effective to the
boarding pupils.

The purchase of a generator shall help the boarders compete fairly with their counterparts the day
scholars and other neighboring secular schools. The dead night lessons is challenging factor in
competing because when a parents brings children in boarding they expect much and if he/she
realize this the outcome is to change the school and it may not be easy for him or her to bring
back the child.

We therefore believe that an automatic generator is very important for an effective teaching

Health and Welfare
The health and welfare of the children is monitored closely. In reception, children have a health
check with the school nurse. In addition, sight, hearing and dental checks are carried out at
regular intervals. The school nurse visits each week to conduct health assessments, and to meet
with parents and carers.

We have numerous members of staff trained in First Aid to look after any child who becomes
sick or injured whilst at school. Parents and carers will be informed immediately if we think a
child is too unwell to stay in school. If your child is unwell in the morning, it is advisable that
they should stay at home until they are better.

If a child is receiving ongoing medication, parents are allowed to come into school by prior
arrangement to administer this. Medication cannot be administered by school staff.

Only in cases of long term medical conditions can arrangements be made for the taking of
medication during school hours. Please visit the school office to discuss this. Medicine and
tablets must never be given to a child to be brought into school. We will ask you to fill in an
Individual Medical Plan if your child has a long term medical condition requiring care in school.
