1. Mainframe & OPEN System

1-1 Support for SOM600 and 601 to change UR initial copy pace
Description New System Option Modes 600 and 601 are available to change the UR initial copy pace
(MIDDLE mode) from125MB/s to 250MB/s or 500MB/s as follows.

-When SOM600 is set to ON: 250MB/s


-When SOM601 is set to ON: 500MB/s

2. Mainframe System

2-1 Support for SOM598 to report SIM for JNL overflow


Description When the usage rate of meta data or journal data space reaches the threshold value (80%),
SIM (DCE0, DCE1, DCE2, or DCE3) for a JNL overflow warning is reported to the host.

-New System Option Mode 598 is available to enable the SIM report.

1 Failure suspend with SSB=EF62
Phenomena After an I/O operation was performed while the JNL ECC on R-site of
UR/URz pair was in correction copy process, suspend failure occurred
with SSB=EF62.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) UR/ UR for z/OS.
(2)The parity group of JNL volume belongs to the R-side JNLG is in
either;
- Correction access status (PDEV is blocked), or
- Correction recovery status (PDEV is recovered).

2 Performance deterioration during a UR Resync operation
Phenomena During a UR Resync operation, host I/O response time increased.
* High MP usage rate was shown during the phenomenon.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
(1) Universal Replicator for Mainframe or Open is used.
(2) Host I/Os are issued to P-VOL.
(3) A Resync operation is executed.
Causes and Updates New System Option Mode 760 is available to fix the problem.

3 Failure of discovery operation for EVA with FW of VAAI


support version
Phenomena When the firmware of EVA was updated to a version that supported
VMWare VAAI function, a discovery operation for the storage system
failed and SSB=ACF0 was output.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) EVA P6500/6300 is used as an external storage.
(2) The firmware version of EVA P6500/P6300 is 10100000. (VAAI
support version)
(3) A discovery operation is performed for the above storage system.

4 Invalid output value of Export Tool after clock time of SVP is


set back
Phenomena After the clock time of SVP was set back, an output value of Export Tool
became "-1".
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Low
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) Monitoring switch is ON.
(2) One of at the following timing.
(a) The clock time of SVP is set back and then SVP transfer restarts when
the time before it is set back comes.
(b) Communication with SVP is disabled and is recovered.
Causes and Updates The micro-program has been modified to fix the problem.
